limp mode or leak or whatever...

I put in a chip last friday and has been runing strong since... i pressure tested it on this past wedensday and it was perfect, no leak what so ever. so i have been driving my car normal and conservitive to not waste gas. this morning to go to school it drove fine i waited for it to warm up and pushed it and booste came on perfect.. i parked it and of coarse let it cool down.. i return to my car today and warm it up and push it into boost and if fails to spool and i hear the turbos but it deff. not as loud or as quick as it usually is. i drive around to try more and it seems like its pushing 5 lbs of boost and the spooling doesnt start untill around 3k.. i have been in limp mode before, but that was due to faulty heat gas sensor and o2 sensor. now there is no reason for it to go into limp mode. i have been driving respecfully since i got it pressure tested.. and if i vag it will a code for sure come up if it is in limp mode? or can it be in limp w/o a code.. thanks!!

Could very well be a boost leak or even a failing MAF sensor. I'd pressure test it again.

hey tony, i checked it wed. and showed no sign of leak and ever since that day i have been driving like a grand ma to save gas for the weekend.. so i highly doubt theres a leak.. but i need a vag.. anyone local... encinitas area sandiego.. ill meet you somewhere..

Sometimes leaks just kinda happen... I have one where sometimes the O-ring on the stupid lower boost pipe just decides not to seal for no apparent reason. You can't really rule anything out before you either vag it or check the car over.

Its been pretty hot lately, it could be really bad heatsoak.

weird just took the car out to get pizza and is driving strong.. hahah boost and everything..and some dude in a cayanne turbo had a run w me i took him.. i was at the light and he looks over and nodds his head. so we went.. im glad i took it i heard thoes were fast... phsss i showed him..

Back on topic....

If you were in limp mode, your check engine light would come on and an error code would be stored in the ECU's memory. Since it's running fine again, I would bet that the problem is intermittent, and the limp mode cleared itself after you shut the car off. That doesn't mean the problem is fixed, just that it's not acting up right now. If I were you, I'd agressively trouble shoot this before it becomes a full-time issue and leaves you stranded somewhere.

well first off guys dont get all pissed off at me for the spelling.. i had alittle to drink.. and im sure you cant spell when your drinking.. second i do attend the gtg at fusion or p@o.. i have been vagged on wed along with my pressure test.. my guess is that when i was pushing it the a/c was on and therefore slowing me down.. ill re-vag it at the next gtg... but its still running stong..
