I swear this car is cursed.

I was just driving to my parents house and a damned box flew off a truck and hit my windshield. The box seemed empty and bounced right over the top of the car so I didn't think anything of it since it smacked the windshield and the windshield was not broken.

Well I get to my parents house and find that the box skipped off my hood first and ripped the paint off down to primer on the front fascia and the hood.

Needless to say, I can't claim this on my insurance as I don't want to be dropped since I already have an at fault accident. As for the truck, I should have pulled his ass over straight away but I didn't think it damaged the car so I let it go.

Can anyone recommend some good paint shops in San Diego? I may repaint the whole car a different color but I need to find out what work is involved.

I am familiar with GA coachworks but I'd like to go somewhere else. I may call up A1 in HB.

Amato's does really nice work, only problem is that there is a 7 week wait right now to get your car in there. After seeing the color change on Bossman and other cars, I'd say A1 or Mobworks is your best bet.

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate luck as of late. I think you should go for another color, something old school! Good luck in whatever direction you take with it...

Wouldn't it just be a comprehensive claim and generally not have any effect on your rates?

Ultra picky thought the work of many of the places mentioned above esepcialy one particular color swap was crap would not let one of those places even paint my lawnmower. The only place my car will ever go is Bowdens in Escondido Troy is the best I have ever seen and will redo it as many times as needed to get it perfect 760-480-6330 www.bowdensauto.com

This is where my car ended up after the rear-end. Anyone who has seen it can attest that the work is just about perfect.
The only beef I had with them was the speed, since we are a one-car family, it's of the utmost importance. Troy was great, just a bit too leisurely.

Do they make carbon fiber hoods for the TT?

They do but the TT hood is already aluminum so carbon fiber doesn't really pick up that much of a weight savings. It would purely be for looks.

I'm gonna put a new wiring harness into the car this weekend and then start calling around for quotes next week.

Craig:

See what I get for letting your car give mine all kinds of crazy ideas. Yours has a surfboard fall off a truck and hit it... a week later mine has a box attack it. I swear they're conspiring against us.
