We are thinking of doing a go-karting event this sunday or monday(memorial day)! either at K1 or Miramar Speed Circuit whichever works out. If anyone is interested post up! that way we can figure out the best day to do this!

K1 is nice, put in Miramar you have a full control of the throttle rather than somebody controlling all the cars ;)

I can go to either Sun or Mon. I'd prefer Sun since I'm moving out of my apart. on Tues. I've never been to either places, so it doesnt make a difference to me where we go.

Cheapest is $20. We could do actually a mini race (6 lap qualification, 14 lap race). That would be $30 per person.

Uhmmm aren't these the standard go-karts with only a brake & a gas pedal?
You don't heel-toe unless you're downshifting...
but you DO left-foot-brake to drag & drift thru a turn :smokem:
But I wouldn't really know that... :cool:

i meant heel toe for my real car

i dont brake when i kart....well at least at speedway i dont...

but if k1 is mucho faster i probably will brake alot

A lot of people don't heel toe on the street like they would on the track. Concept actually is named heel toe because you twist your leg so that your heel is on the accelerator, your toe is on the brake. As you are entering a turn you're braking to slow down but at the same time you need to bring the rpm's up to downshift. so you press on the brake with your toe and bump the throttle quickly with your heel. downshift, and continue braking until you are ready to accelerate or lift.

For street driving I just use the inside part of the widest part of my foot to brake and hte outside to blip the throttle. helps if the brake/gas pedals are somewhat close to each other. aftermarket pedal covers can help a lot

You will need a 14' X 14' to be comfortable. We used a modified 10'X10' to make it work for years. (roughly half of a 2 car garage.)
