Just got my windows tinted at Alvin-O's

Had my front windows tinted today at Alvin-O's in Clairemont Mesa. The back glass is already dark so I just had them match the fronts.

Alvin does tinting for about 40 car dealers in San Diego. He is the only company insured to take apart your door panels as well. He is slightly more expensive then the average tint place but thats because the job he does is incredible. They frequently do BMW's, Infiniti's and Mercedes. Those were a few that were outside. Life time warrenty on parts and labor.

Another cool thing is that they detail your car when they are all done, no extra charges.


The windows came out great. No bubbles and no line at the top of the window. It goes all the way to the edge. Cool guy to talk to. So if your interested in a top quality tint job for your car, check out Alvin-0's. Im too lazy to post up pictures so you can see his work tomorrow night at the GTG.

My avant is done by them.

Ive know Alvin from when he use to run tinting at Solar Eclipse car show.

But i usually dont refer many people to him because he definitely isnt cheap.

They usually too busy with dealership cars anyway :)

Depends on the vehicle. An M5 owner was quoted ~ $450 due to the nature of the work. BMW door panels and rear deck are not as easy to remove/put back on as say, a Honda or VW or Toyota. Also for you Audi and passat guys, since you have two winows on your rear doors, that counts as well. He does pricing per pair of windows.

I have a 99.5 Audi A4 1.8t without the Bose sound system and I was quoted $415 for all the windows including the two rear small windows. Having the Bose sound system will increase the price because there is more stuff to take out in the rear deck panel, making it more difficult to tint the back window. (Since they take out all the speakers when they do the tint)

Like somone else said here...He does charge more but you get the best job in San Diego.

You get what you pay for!! spend a little and you get the same!

Come to think of it.......you can save on a CAI by useing A/C vent tubing avaiable at Home Depot and it can be had in sizes up to 6" :D
