I thought I would just pass what I have learned onto you readers so that the rest of you wont have to go through what I have ...

You can Buy a Hitachi coil pack to fix this problem, the cost is about $120

good looking out, but most of us know about the recall.
at least i knew about it and have never, nor plan on ever owning anything other than a MkII or older

very very old news. 98.8% of the vws and audis that this recall apply to have already had their coil packs updated

i think a lot of people dont know why MK4 VW and new body Audi's have such a low reliability rating, and its mostly due to the coilpack, which in my opinion isnt VW/Audi's fault directly

true, the parts are supplied to the factory by another company while the car is on the assembly line.
but i still trust my gti more than any other car i own
