Remembering a friend - Steve Terinate, AKA MojavebeigeGTI

This Sunday, the 12th, marks the one year anniversary of the tragic death of one of socal’s finest VW/Audi members. Steve Terinate, AKA MojavebeigeGTI.

Steve past away on June 12th, 2004 in a car accident (http://www.stuntlife.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-79112) as a passenger in the rear of a vehicle in the Orange County, CA area. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

This is extreme sad for me, because I have personally met Steve. And has always been friendly and respectful. Even when Steve had gotten rid of his GTI and moved onto riding his motorcycle around, he was still around with the community and at gatherings. I will personally miss Steve and I hope you all will remember a great person.

Steve will always be missed on here on socaleuro. Words can explain how much it hurt me when he left us. I will always remember him!

Wow... I can't believe it's already been a year :(

If anyone has a picture of the drawing I've done, please post it up. One of my photosites reformatted their page and I lost everything.

also "past away" should be "passed away"

and "bother" should read "brother"

TIA

damn you people stop correcting her spelling

for those that didnt know Steve, he was really a nice guy.

His passing away was just as powerful as the GT accident.
He touched a lot of people in the SoCal Euro community.

I remember when he rode up in his bike to one of the Big SoCalEuro GTG's because he didnt have his GTI no more. And he offered to help, and was so courteous.

He'll be missed.

I remember that anahiem g2g two years ago when he rode his bike. He parked it at the very top. He was tellin me he felt bad for his bike being parked next to some Ducati. :D He's was such a funny guy when i met him. He was a major influence on my cousin who now owns a 20thAE GTi. DOPE DUDE!

It was scary, my cousin was tight with him. My cousin got a call from a friend informing Steve's death. We were at DubWars when we recieved the news about it. It's crazy how everything involved Euros. I wish i got to know him better.

i remember...

3 or 4 years ago, oli and steve were driving out of puente hills mall and my bf and i were driving in. we crossed each other at a stop light and they waved to try and get our attention. they were telling us to follow them. so we did. lol. we followed them into the parking lot of in-n-out. they started to chat with my bf. in my head, i'm thinking..."hey guys, it's not his car, it's mine." the funny thing is, even if i was the one driving, they still thought it was my bf's car. haha. we spoke after online...and finally figured out it was my car. i had full body graphics at the time so they offered to take each side to peel it off. funny guys.

they then introduced us to socaleuro.com. they told us about all the meets you guys have.

a few weeks after that, the first meet i attended was the huntington one. we all met up at the starbucks on grand/amar. steve was the first one to come and greet me. he also introduced me around so i wouldn't feel left out.

steve also sold me his jms lip. his lip will live forever on my car. =) while he was parting out his car. he asked my bf to find him a 240sx. we even went with steve to check one out. we looked at several of them but i guess decided on a bike instead.

gosh, i can't believe it's been a year already...*sigh*

his smile definently stood out the most for me... Even though I only got to meet him twice, he was always so kind and remembered my name the second time we met.

I just got home. It was a decent drive up there, traffic was pretty good. When we arrived, we saw Steve's parents there and we all started just chatting. His mom and dad were telling us stories that have happened to them in the past and how everyone's been doing (the sister, etc.). Since I do only have a 35mm camera, I should be posting up the pics in a few days.
