That would be a good idea except that the syncro setup is very heavy because it was before 4MOTION
was developed with electrnics instead of fluid to control everything. your better off getting the AWD setup out of an old audi or get one from an old vw in germany. thats what a lot of companies do to get AWD in their VR6 GTIs and stuff

as per "shitty"....eh, it's older technology that wasn't 100% developed to its fullest like...oh, ionno....quattro....but it's fun

plus, it's the "unique" factor that would sell it to me, imho.
