You do need your MAF, That orange tube should slide right onto it. Are you keeping the bolts on the intake loose so you can maneuver it around. I had a shitty one on my car. there are pics on my homepage if you want to use it as a reference. I know they're not the same type of CAIs but maybe someone else has better pics.

yea, i was keeping em loose, but it seems impossible to fit the orange tube onto the MAF hose. any suggestions or force it on there. it just seems like the orange tube is an inch short in diameter to even fit around the MAF.. its kinda like trying to fit into an old pair of pants that you used to wear back in high school years back in the day and both the zipper/button just wont budge.. :(

From the looks of it you have the hose on backwards. the hose you have on the intake should go onto the maf and vice versa. Without the maf you will throw a CEL and your car will run like crap.

k, im getting a lil frustrated... this is taking way too long.
i got the orange tube to finally fit around the MAF.

not the fristrating part is trying to fit the other end of the orange tube to fit onto the end of the intake.
http://mpg.cc/SICGTI/not-fitting_large.jpg
i tried folding back the end of the tube and tried to fold it back over onto the intake.
http://mpg.cc/SICGTI/folded_large.jpg
when i fold down the tube onto the intake, one side never fits. it alwas comes up short. i tried using a flat-head screw driver to bring it back, but it wont budge and the rest of the tube ends up sinking in.. :(

any sugestions?
update: is there a special tool or certain tool i need??

With mine, I tried using force to bring the two together..
youre almost there, use a small screw driver to work the hose over the pipe, leave everything "loose" untill everything is inplace then tighten your clamps
btw make sure the arrow on the MAF ----> is pointed towards the intake manifold/throttle

thanks. im currently heating up the tube in hot water. then i'll get back to forcing it on and using a smaller screw driver.

i need a picture of the side that shows where the spark plugs go. i know for a fact i dont have them plugged in order. i shoulda marked them before i unplugged them. Lession well learned.. :(

the wires are a set length and it should be easy to figure out that the long ones goes far away etc...

Distributor cap? The VR6 does not even have a distributor. It uses a coil pack.
