Farewell, Scotty

Once, at a convention of astronomers, James Doohan was asked what it felt like "to be beamed." The actor who'd abided by the order, if not the exact words, "Beam me up, Scotty," countless times on the Star Trek set reported that it was "very pleasurable."

"You end up beaming all over the place," Doohan said, per StarTrek.com.

according to the article I read, that phrase was never said once in the entire series, and the closest they came was in one of the movies, when the line "Scotty, beam me up" was used.

Kinda sucks that his whole career is remembered as only one character, but I guess he didn't mind it.

Kinda weird that they're gonna send his cremated remains to space along with another dead Star Trek cast member ... Trekkies :ha:
