I'm gearing up for an engine rebuild and I was wondering if anyone knew any good machine shops to ask about knife edging and cranks and boring cylinders and such.

I'm looking at costs involved right now and trying to set my budget based on what is most importsant to me. I know I need to address a low compression issue on one cylinder and while the head is off I should consider the other stuff too.

Also, any gurus that might want to lend advice or a wrench on the weekends would be appreciated.

I knew of someone---I do not know if he is still around. Used to build top-fuel dragsters to boot.

Osborne automotive up in temecula----dunno if they are still around, but they did a good job on my old honda stuff.

I was actually gonna shoot mike a message about them. Their name comes up everytime I ask around no matter which group I'm talking to and that says alot for them.

Hit up Shear Speed in Escondido... just look them up on yahoo yellow pages... they do all sorts of stuff, from Civic dragsters, to work on my old Audi, to trail-rigs... came very highly recommended from a buddy of mine who did a custom turbo project with them. Hole-in-the-wall operation, but good work and good rates.
