A suspected drunken driver plowed a minivan into a Hillcrest-area restaurant at high speed today while arguing with a female passenger, police say.
The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. at Rice King, at 334 W. Washington St. according to police.
Patrol officers arrested the motorist, whose name has not been released, on suspicion of driving while under the influence.
Medics took his female passenger to a hospital for an evaluation, although at the time she did not appear to have any significant injuries, police say.
The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle while speeding and arguing with the woman, police say.
