OK, so i am trying to lower my car (96 vr gti). Talked to my mechanic and he quoted me $1700 w/ labor for adjustable coilovers or $1300 w/labor for cup kit. i dont wanna pay that much. i have been looking around now and found kits from Patec for adjustable coilovers and other things. They are $529 and then my friend who has experience would help me do the installation. let me know what you guys think about the Patec Coilovers or if you know of any other suspension kits that are decently priced. thanks guys

patec coilovers i am looking at is the second box in from the left on the top row:

you just trying to go low or you want performance and reliablity?

It all depends on what your application is going to be. If you just want to go low then go with the slightly off brands and go low.

If you want perforamance then you going to pay more but it will last longer, work harder, and have great warranty.

Also, when you go low you may want a pro to install it to adjust for weight of the engine and other factors to get the right height and then do alignment.

I spent 1k on pss9's then paid $200 for install and i was happy.
