Someone at work sent this to me. From what I can tell this guy works for or runs an ISP in New Orleans. He has some good photos and interesting reports from inside the area.

A particularly disturbing story from the Convention Center.

i would also like to add....these people that are looting...for shoes and shit...need to be SHOT ON SITE!

none of this "hey there....get outta there you little rascal" BULLSHIT they are pulling now.

there are already plenty of bodies...time to add to the pile...start eliminating the people that are the real cancer of society....and call it chlorine in the gene pool...nuff said!

(i find a different taste in my mouth for those getting food and water...they cant quite get the goods if no one is there to sell it)

its natural selection at its finest, I'm all for adding chlorine to the gene pool, it hasn't been done in awhile. The news says some people didn't have enough money to evacuate............last time I checked, walking is free or buming a ride could work also.

When a Hurricane of biblical proportion is heading towards your city that happens to sit under sea level and you want to see what happens, good for you, your an oxygen theif and the world is better off without you. Along with the people who would take advantage and risk almost cetain death and starvation to steal some water logged TV's fit in there too

Yeah walk out of New Orleans to safety, thats just not realistic. So go ahead and blame the sick the old the mentally retarted and the dirt poor for not leaving and then having to wait five days to recieve help from one of the richest and most powerful governments in the world. If you were to walk out of the New Orleans 9th ward(the poor area of town) to safety from the storm it would take close to 13 plus hours in 90 degree heat with humidity.
I am a former resident of New Orleans and I still haven't heard from all of my friends yet! Lets just put this into perspective, lets say a big earthquake devastates soutern California I would never say well all you effers knew it was coming so its your fault for living there.

Let me get this straight; Natural disaster gives them the right to kill and steal :ha:
and then they bitch about not receiving help yet the shoot at rescue/support aircraft. Nobody is blaming the sick, old or mentally retarded. But whats your excuse for the wasted flesh using this as an excuse to commit crimes?

I have no excuse for the .001% that have shot at rescue/support aircraft or are commitng crimes. If you had no food or water what would you do? I myself would go to the nearest store and survive/loot instead of waiting five days for any relief or help! The majority of PEOPLE stuck in New Orleans were poor and living pay check to pay check on minimum wage or welfare and foodstamps. No matter how much these people make or what kind of citizens you think they are they don't deserve to be ignored in a national disaster like this.
You are probably just pissed off because you're gas prices went up anyways when you should be concerned about the unnecassary loss of human life on the Gulf coast.
WHO IS THEM ANYWAYS!? ALL OF NEW ORLEANS? HUH, PLEASE CLARIFY THIS.

No matter what other grievances the people of NOLA may have, being ignored is not one of them.
To suggest otherwise is to demean the hundreds of people from all over the country down there helping, and the (probably) millions of people who have donated supplies/money.

I don't know if that is exactly true. They didn't even know about the filled to capacity Convention center until days after the storm? The national guard rolls into town days late, when you knew the storm was coming and not to mention the devastation in Mississippi that is being completely ignored.

Whole towns are gone and only the foundations show there was ever anything there. They also get the treat of watching the aid roll thru to New Orleans while they starve. And for the jaded, there is no widespread looting in Mississippi. Just devastated lives and towns.

We sure seem to have lots of money and aide for the other countries that hate us though.

There were lots of things done wrong during this past week. There are bad people in New Orleans, and the lack of police in the streets meant they could do whatever they want. These folks were there before the storm and the floods, and they will be there afterwards. Simple as that.

As for leaving the city, the State/Local people were supposed to provide transportation out of the area. Either not enough was provided or none at all. If people wanted to stay out of choice... that's their deal. Keep in mind that there is NOTHING in San Diego or Orange county that could compare with the level of poverty that some of New Orleans lives in.

There's going to be alot of dead bodies when the water is drained.

There's no doubt that the emergency planning before the hurricane and the disaster response afterwards were hallmarks of incompetence.
But this thing managed to even push Iraq off the front page, ignoring the Gulf we are not.
