Custom car culture has been part of southern California society since the mid 40’s. Back when kids use to take their cars and “hot rod†them out and compete against each other on backcountry roads. Friday nights were spent at the local cruise spot, hot cars filled the parking lots of drive in’s and with it the girls that appreciated them. Car culture of today isn’t quiet how things were back then but a lot still is the same when is comes to the southern California scene. Hot cars fill up the shows and late night cruise spots, and the girls that drive us to do what we do best. Guys build cars to attract hot girls, and girls are attracted to the hot cars that guys build. It’s a circle that will never end, be it a mid '60s muscle car, a slammed out low rider or a hot import or European street cruiser.

When the members of the So Cal Euro dot com web site wanted to have a model shoot, suddenly everyone was a photographer and somehow had some kind of hook up or friend that could do the modeling. I stepped in and calmed down the storm to create an organized and laid back afternoon of cars, enthusiasts and of course girls. After two months, multiple interviews and some long distance phone calls, I found two young ladies willing to help out and give the so cal euro members something to stare at for the next few weeks.

The photography talents of Tom Maranda of Turn 2 Photography and Cedric Rivera of Kinesis Motorsports, created some awesome photos for everyone. I even got a chance to get in on the action taking a few shots here and there between the madness. The final result is what you see here. A total of six cars showed up for the shoot including a Ferrari F355, a Volkswagen MKIV GTI, a Volkswagen Jetta GLI, a BMW 325I, an old school Audi Euro Quattro, along with an old school '57 Chevy to mix things up a bit. Of course the Ferrari drew the most attention from the on lookers as well as it was also the models favorite car to pose on, must be something about red cars. Along with the photo shoot, the SCE members had an after party/bon fire on Fiesta ISland, San Diego, which happened to work out great since it was also our photo shoot location. After a long day of photography combined with a night of partying and endingthe night fire works show directly above us as we all left the island, curotisy of Sea World just across the bay from us this turned out to be a great event. I cant wait to do this again next year, maybe even make this an annual event for SCE.com

For me it’s just a hobby at the moment, right now I’m a full time mom so I just do this for fun

Pinching anything on someone’s body with my toes I’m really good at it
