Hi, first off, let me post my thread from VW vortex.

For the gist, I'm trying to clear my airbag code. I guy on vw vortex is going to send me instructions, i just need a vag... which i do'nt have.

thus, i'm going to need a nice someone and a vag =)

help please?

Hey Steve, sometime this week, would you mind letting me use your vag dongle? I don't know what's up with mine; I sent it back twice and even went and bought another newly-shitty laptop after I concluded that it must be my serial port... still can't get it to work. I'll pm you my number, give me a call.

yeah, i'm in irvine, by the tustin market place... either that or i'm by UCI... seeing that i school there.

I work in Tustin, so if I end up borrowing Steve's for a few days, you can swing by my work and get that airbag light cleaned up... we'll see.

I drive thru Irvine every day from work (San Clemente) to home (Cerritos) ...so if you need to get anything vag'd, send me a PM also.

thanks guys. the only problem so far right now is that I can't manage to get those instructions. the guy on VWVortex has yet to respond (it's only been a day). I'd IM him, but my im doesn't work on this compute,r and the computer of my roommate. I'll let you guys know.

I do'nt know if there's a difference, but i've got the 4th gen gti. I thikn the newer a4's... after the b5's use different vags.

Check www.ross-tech.com (http://www.ross-tech.com) and see if they are on there. They have a lot of VAG how to's...

Don't think that's true with the different Vags, but I have Steve's Vag and I should be up in Tustin tomorrow if you get the directions.

i haven't checked the Ross-Tech, but this is what was replied to my thread

"open airbag controller, then adapt, change channels 3 and 4 values to 1, make sure you dont have the air controller that might be damaged my some versions of vagcom before you do this"

i dont' understand that last part regarding the version of vag.

There's probably some version of Vag that messes up a certain year of car. Could be worth a search or two on vortex, but more than likely, you'll be alright. If you want to do it next Monday, I should be up in Tustin.

wow, that'd be really nice BUT. I'll be very busy untill after 4 PM on wednesday. I've got finals next week to work on. You free next weekened or mid week?
