Hey guys,
Haven't been on the forums in a little bit as I've been taking care of alot of things around the house and such. Also picked up a part time gig with the GeekSquad. Yeah, the bug driving guys in ties that fix your PC. Well... a day into the gig I get approached to, of all things, help them get a little car show together in their parking lot. So here's whats going down so far.
Where: Best Buy in Riverside (Tyler street, near the galleria mall).
When: November 14 or 15 (tenative but 90% solid on those days).
Why: For a good cause of course! To raise money for the "Make a Wish" foundation. Donations taken on site, as well as raffles.
Whats in it for you?
Glad you asked! Started out as just a $25 gift card for the store managers favorite cars, but I've helped them kick it up a notch. Now we're looking at a raffle for a brand new, nicely decked out tower PC, a flat screen television, various items from the car audio department, Best buy gift cards for employee choice show cars, and we're even trying to setup a discount on ALL shopping for anyone who shows their VW key at the register that day! How's that for a dub lovin store??
Is it a show?
Think of it as the big get together, but with the addition of the store managers and employees taking their time to browse the cars and toss out a few extra freebies to the dubs they find the most eye catching! We won't be doing trophies but thats okay, because you can't spend a trophy or use it to log onto SCE to post up anyway... the stuff we'll give you, you can!
Who's going to be there?
Other than an array of nicely worked up air cooled and water cooled dubs (both are encouraged!), we'll have on site munchies, a select few aftermarket vendors that are being specifically invited, various press outlets (news papers, magazines, television), and of course... you. Right?
We'll be parking a number of cars in half of the front parking lot, and then using the ENTIRE rear lot behind and to the side of the store just for the show! We want to pack every inch of the lot with dubs new and old, plain and custom!
If you're at all interested in coming by, and you have a car with alot of love and detail put into it, please let me know personally so I can help convince them to let me park a few up by the front door!
Oh, and if you're worried about non-car folks being near your rides, don't! We will have Riverside's finest on site to help make sure cars are respected from a safe distance by the masses!
Come out and help us raise some funds for a great cause, the "Make a Wish" foundation", and enjoy alot of great once in a great while prizes and freebies, and a dub owner discount on all other shopping!
