...when you volunteer to help out a friend because you think it'll be quick and easy, but then it turns into a long, drawn out thing that you're basically stuck with because after all, you did volunteer and you really do want to help out, you just don't want to spend your entire day helping out?

No, this is more like "Hey, stop by and let the movers in so they can begin packing at 8:00. "
When the packers don't show up till 9:00.
And take until 1:30.
And then stand around until 2:15 waiting for the truck that's late.
Then the truck shows up at 2:45.
And doesn't start loading until 3:15.
At which point, I said screw it, and went home.

But, hey, the moving part is the same.
