Located in the Inland Empire. Can't handle two cars here, no place to put both so I'm sacraficing the less mature car now that I'm a professional. Drove across country from VT with no problems, as fast as you think it is. $10g- pm me here with serious inquiries. Cold Air conditioning with fresh charge, too much to list.

take this how you will, but that is in no way a 10K car.
Rich Pugh sold his for 9k and it was in a helluva lot better shape than that is

that's assuming it's a quality turbo that was tuned properly and has the correct engine management software, too ;)

Cheapskates, you don't even haue details and you are all ready squealin on the price. Rich sold just his shell for that much. If you want just my swap and turbo stuff then 7g. I'll install it for 2500. If you want the rest that'll run ya 2000. If you don't know what you are looking at then shut the fuck up because i don't have time to teach how not to judge a book by it's cover.

lol...we need to shut the fuck up because we don't know what we're looking at and he's trying to sell it to us....so we should just shut the fuck up and buy it, because heaven forbid he post something and post NO details on it and some outrageous price for it.
lol, anyone remeber that "racecar for sale" post?

well considering i already read your vortex shit i think i do know what went into it.
the turbo install looks like shit. not to mention what you did to the bumper.
good luck getting 10Gs for it, especially for a car you will never be able to transfer over to california plates legally

I'm not posting this car to start an internet argument. If you don't like the price then keep it to yourself please- it is a "for sale" post not a "rip on what's for sale" post. Anyone who would be interested in buying this car won't need to be saved from making what you perceive to be a poor choice by your less than informative posts. They can inspect the car, ride in the car and drive the car and then arrive at their own decision. If you don't think the price is fair then that's simply because it's not the car for your tastes. Maybe the west coast car market is more reflective of the over all values system here- mainly aesthetics over performance. It's not a show car and it sounds like that's what you guys are expecting for the price. While we're comparing this to Rich Pughs old car that no longer exists, this setup in slightly different trim went 13.3@112.8 on 7.7lbs of boost and stock clutch, tranny, engine etc. Rich ran 13.4 @ 14lbs and trapped 110-112mph iirc on his high dollar setup. So let's compare- Rich's car is no question a far superior car in every aspect except performance. Rich's car ran roughly twice the boost and ran a tenth slower in the 1/4. I'm not bashing Rich's old car because I was a fan, but as a matter of fact expressed by the time slips this car would eat his up on the track and on the road. His full car asking price was $14-$17g. If you don't like my shell then put my engine into a cleaner one and show it if you like "feeling yourself".
My Time slip at 7.7lbs of boost and stock engine/tranny:

that still doesn't change the fact that it is a car you will never leagally get on the road in california....since it is an out of state car it WILL have to go through a CHP inspection, and since it is turbo'd it will not pass said inspection.
10k for a car that will never see the road is a little rediculous, i have no doubt in the numbers it is putting down, but you gotta realize you are not gonna get out of it what you put into it. i have over 19K into mine, but it still blue books for 2500, i could probably get 4500 for it, but i came to the conclusion i will keep it forever cause i'd lose too much money by selling it.
take it as a flame or what ever blows your skirt up, im just giving you the facts, if it hurts your ego/feelings so be it. at least im being honest.

not to take sides or anything here, but it gets frustrating when someone posts up a for sale ad, and people bash it. If you don't like the price of it, then don't post your negative opinions and try to ruin his thread, simply move on and don't post anything. The least you could do out of kindness is send him a pm with your opinion to try and help the guy sell the car with your advice, but you aren't helping him at all when you post up in public that you think his car is way overpriced. Again, Im not taking sides on who is right on the value and what not, I just think its rude to post on someones for sale thread if it doesn't contribute to it in a positive way.

It's priced at what I would feel comfortable selling- if nobody can afford it then I'll keep it rather than grab my ankles just as you would with yours. I'd say half the cars on the road here aren't legal. I'm sure you know plenty of examples and methods yourself. I posted on the Vortex and also here to hit a local market- there's a reason the majority of fast VW's are on the east coast. If any east coasters want it then it can be delivered, I don't have a problem with that.
You're not hurting my feelings but you aren't helping me sell the car; you are just bringing your unwelcome price opinions that are at the opposite end of the realistic price scale from mine. I know more about what I'm selling and you know more about where I'm selling. My price is indicative of my motivation to sell- if someone is interested in the car then make me an offer that's realistic based on the parts list above. It looks like I'll be able to get into a house with a garage in October and then the car won't be open for public sale anymore. You could of course still buy it when I'm moved into a house but you'll be spending more than what I would accept right now.

you are right there are alot of illegal cars here, but you gotta realize they are usually already california cars, bringing a car in from out of state is a big hassle, cause before you can get plates/registration ect..ect.. it will have to go through a CHP inspection, there is no way around it, once you pop the hood on this beast they will probably laugh at you and tell you to get it back to factory spec before they will go further.

I feel that comments such as SoCal_GLI's are appropriate in a case like this. Until you started calling names, I'm sure he had nothing against you. He is simply looking out for the members of this rather tight knit forum. Perhaps there are people out there that don't realize the car would need to go through a CHP inspection prior to registration...

Some of the comments, yes, but when he bashes the guys price, then it becomes inappropriate. If this guy wants to ask 10k for his car, then let him ask that. No one needs to tell him that his car isn't worth it. The stuff about the CHP inspection and illegal issues is good to bring up, but knocking the price is jacked. Now, if they guy were asking something truely bogus like 25k, then yeah, bring on the bashings, but 10k for a 13second car isnt all that bad. Maybe some rich kid out there is looking for a quick toy.

edit....let someone that doesn't know any better pay his asking price
he didn't trash your price, it was meant as constructive criticisim, IMO that car will still be for sale two years from now at that price, not bashing, but I have to agree with Ed and the others, be realistic, you lose money on a car like that, and the pics of the car and workmanship don't justify the price. For gods sake, the cowl plenum has been hacked out of the car!!!!
You have to expect this type of stuff when you post a car for sale on the boards. maybe if you pawned it in Autotrader to a guy with alot of money who just didn't care or didn't know any better. All of us here are enthusists so we know what a car is worth regardless of mods. Plus it will never smog here in Cali,so you need to lower the price and sell it out of state, or drive it and enjoy it.

dude...i know ed pretty well...and i know that you just can't push his buttons that easily...
fact is, on this site (as has been said before) we are a tight-knit group of folk...we all know eachother and interact with eachother quite regularly. As a direct result of that, we stick by one another...
yes, dude, your car is fast (given that time slip) but it's not THAT fast. second, your car is even more illegal than those out on the road today because you'll never register it (which is why I think you're selling...you've since discovered that).
so when someone posts some crap like yours, we all watch out for one another and post things like:
1) don't believe it unless you've seen proff
2) this car is illegal, you'll never get it registered
3) his asking price is too much
et cetera.

not obeying the law is beside the point......it's an out of state car and WILL have to go through state inspection
