WHY?
To benefit the "Make-a-wish" foundation. Plain and simple. We want to bring together VWs of all years, and models, and levels of pimpness, to raise money for a great cause and give people in the area a treat in seeing our cars and the enthusiasm we put into them.

Well, we've got the side and rear of the whole building for dub parking space, and a good portion of the front parking lot as well, and it can be a good hangout gtg for folks for as long as you want :) No reason NOT to come out and help with a good cause!

I should have updates on the Gift Card awards they're going to hand out for the best cars there... and more info on other raffle prizes, by mid next week.

I just got back from a meeting with some BB upper folks, and found out that the raffle prizes and give-aways are going to range from $5 to $1000, and who knows what else... Prize list is going to include at least 1 computer system, and multiple TV's, Gift cards, and much much more!!

I also want to toss out again, that ANYONE driving a dub that day and showing their key at the register is going to enjoy a 7% discount on ANY store purchase the day of the show! So just showing up has it's bonuses!

Speak up on this thread if you're coming by, and if you're bringing friends!! The more we represent, the more fun events and bonuses for the VW community we can pull off in conjunction with other fund raisers (1 a month, every month!)...

Anyone driving a 'dub gets a discount on ALL purchases in the store on top of everything else.

Best Buy, ABD Racing, Meguiars, Just Tires, America's Tire company, Executive Detail, System one products, and many more are putting up services and prizes for raffle!

We'll start parking cars at 10:00am, and everyone is free to hang out all day long. If you wanna show up later, please do so! Raffles should be wrapped up about 6pm, with several prizes every hour!

Make-A-Wish volunteers will be holding a bake sale there as well, so there will be cookies, cotton candy, snow cones, and other goodies to snack on as well!

Well hopefully there'll be plenty of folks showing up. I've got the backing from the VW and local business communities, and now I just want to have enough people to raffle off all these great prizes to!

How the raffles are going to work is that you will be able to purchase $5 tickets, or $10 tickets. $5 tickets get you 1 entry per ticket, into the raffles for most of the prizes. $10 tickets get you 1 entry per ticket into the higher dollar items (TV, computers, detail service, etc.) You can buy as many tickets as you want, and of course increase you chance on going home with some loot! We'll be holding raffles every 30 minutes from Noon to 6pm, maybe longer if we have too many prizes! $10 prizes will be tossed out towards the end of the evening to give everyone a chance to get their entries in.

ALL raffle proceeds are going to Make-a-Wish foundation! Again, this is for a GREAT cause, and it helping a worth while charity! All snacks and such available in the parking lot are all going to help the cause!

And don't forget, you get a discount on just about everything in the store if you drive a Volkswagen to the store that day!

If we make it a strong enough showing, this will become an annual event, and who knows how crazy it'll get next time around!

Well, it's been busy as @#$ here at best buy this past week, after turkey day and all... so I haven't had time to jump on and post much, nor have I had time to sleep much either :P

Even with a snafu involving 1600 Cookies we could not get unlocked and delivered, and with a few "supporters" deciding to bail on us early in the AM, we still raised about $2,000 for the foundation! We even did so well, that the managers decided to ADD more products to the raffle prize list! iPods got added, larger TV, and a few video game systems were all added...

I had a great day, I know the people there did that I had a chance to talk to, and I know the foundation was very grateful for our work and your contributions!
