Racelegal has their next night at the Q on Sept 30. I'd like to know who would be intrested in this... I have never ran, but I definetly want to!!!

I'll be there with the S4 and my track tires. Ran up at the 1/4 mile at Fantona over the weekend, good time, but only got in 3 runs (as did everyone else) vs the 20 or so at the Q.

Hey, I am new to the boards glad to see some other VWers interested in the racelegal down here. i was there 2 weeks ago and ran some shitty times. I wish i could go tomorrow night but i am going to be busy getting ready for the Extreme Auto Fest, on saturday. No problem. How'd everyone run?

My best time was 9.6 sec... That was my first run of the night and it was with horrible reaction time (1.1 sec).. The rest of the night I averaged 10.2 sec with an average reation of .6ish... As I ran more, the water and methanol mixture heated up in the resevoir significantly which explains why my techniqe got better but my time didnt improve.

Get yourself a few of those skinny ice packs that that are made to fit in the mouth of water bottles and shove one in your reservoir. If its too small to fit one you could always get a bigger reservoir or you can buy a little cool can to run your methanol hose through on its way to the injector/nozzle.

Good idea about the ice packs--I was thinking just ice, but that will diplute my mixture. What is the cool can that you are talking about?

BTW, are my times decent or no?

Reaction times don't factor into your ET. The important numbers are your 60ft, ET, and trap speed. I believe my best stock turbo time was a 9.6 @ ~75mph with a 2.4 60ft. I never could figure out how to launch the car correctly on street tires...and that took me a couple of race days to actually get down to, so I'd say you're doing pretty good.

Even without the meth injection, the first run of the night is usually the fastest (trap speed wise) thanks to the small stock intercooler.

10.0-9.4 is about the norm for most of the dubs down there except for the few MK II's that run down there no weight and lots of RPM ...hell i run 9.90's to 9.60's down there on my motor N/A best 1/4 i ran was an 14.89 in fontana on slicks and backed it up with a 14.90 30 minutes later in hotter conditions

I've run several 8.9's down there with slow 60fts and granny shifting. The goal next time is low 8's, though...shouldn't be too hard to get.
