if you can please read this, it will only take a few moments of your time. thank you.

The House International Relations Committee recently passed the American Genocide Resolution by an overwhelming majority... But justice has not yet been served. In order for the pending Armenian Genocide legislation to officially recognize Turkey’s destruction of 1.5 million Armenians between 1915 and 1923, Rep. Dennis Hastert has to keep his commitment to hold a vote in support of the legislation. Fate rests on speaker Hastert's shoulders, and we need your help to ask him to do the right thing.

You are officially invited to join the band in their efforts to help pass this legislation...

SHOW UP IN FRONT OF HASTERT’S BATAVIA, IL OFFICE TUESDAY, SEPT 27 AT NOON!!

Be a part of history and join System Of A Down on the 27th. In the mean time, System Of A Down wants you to take action and send a free WebFax urging Hastert to hold a vote on the Armenian Genocide Resolution

^^the website you can go to...to send an email to Hastert...
It will take not take more than 5 minutes... !!

:tup:THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

PS: if possible can you guys keep bumping this topic to the top it would be greatly appreciated.

Whats the point?

so the US gov't will accept the fact that the genocide happened, because for the past 90 years they haven't accepted it.

Why does that matter? Its been 90 years.

Shouldnt the fact YOU know it happened be enough?? What could possibly be gained by some sort of official government recognition?

Someone is looking for money. Please tell me im wrong.

It matters because Turkey is an important U.S. ally and this has the potential to embarass them and/or impede their entrance into the EU.

It's somewhat silly to argue about it, since the Ottoman Empire doesn't even exist anymore, but when matters of pride are involved, logic goes out the window. heh.

I think we should worry more about our future and not dwell on 90 years in the past.

I agree we shouldn't dwell on the past, but we need to recognize it and remeber it for what it was so it doesn't get left out of history books and future generations can be taught of tyrany
