I've got a deadline tomorrow that I have to meet no matter what even though I also have to support all of our teams servers which are currently crashing thanks to other peoples crappy code.
I am really getting sick of the workload lately.

Right now... I'm averaging around 16 hours a day 7 days a week. I've been taking a little bit of time off on the weekends that brings the average down.
Whats funny is they still bust me if I'm not in my seat at 8am.

the worst part about your job is it involves using the brain....totaly more exhausting than a physical job (no, that is not sarcasm, i'm serious)

yeah, i agree.
when i work, i put in long days (7am call time to about a 630 or 7pm end)...not to mention dealing with jet lag and being out in the sun all day!...it's very physical and such but I don't generally get tired (at least not in the same way) as I did when i had a job that was so demanding from an intellect standpoint.

thar ya go matey give er a shot
I like my job, I work 12 hour days, but only four days a week, so I usually always have a 3 day weekend, and sometimes a 4 day weekend.
The only thing I hate about my job is when management and bean counters get involved and hamper my productivity by tying my job up with 100 miles of red tape. They cant see the forest through the trees and it costs them money instead of saving it. I would rather they just let me do my job that I know how to do very well.
Do you guys also have people who like to create messes at work, just so they can fix them? I hate that. I had a manager once who started to change everything, fuckin with stuff that was perfectly fine and throwing a monkey wrench in the works.
Speaking of managers, Just because you went to college and got a "degree" in "management" doesn't mean you know how the real world works and you still havent completed the school of hard knocks.
I also hate having to pickup someone elses slack and clean up their messes (figurativley).

my job is "officespace" in real life.. the last division meeting we had i said "i have 9 different bosses!" and the sad part was that i wasn't quoting the movie
Its kind of a good thing working for a larger company with more than one person over you as the left hand doesnt always know what the right one is doing, not to mention there are alot more people for them to focus on so if you keep your head down and work you tend to get left alone and let the trouble makers draw the heat.

Yeah... thats what's getting to me right now too. When Office Space starts hitting too close to home... life really starts sucking fast.

I actually like my job ... but I only get paid $7/hour, and can't work over 20 hours a week :(
What I hate is applying for jobs ... I'm filling out so many applications, and though I think I should be qualified for all of them, I'll be lucky if any of them even call me.
And if/when they do, I'll have to drive 1000 to 3000 miles each time for interviews/testing/etc. In between work and school, that is.
