its missing an engine and trans. the motor and trans where rebuilt. it was a 327 with a three speed stick. except they left the motor inside the car and it rusted. so im planning to swap in a ls1 motor with a six speed trans once i get my gti done.

1967,
its a 67 because only 67's had vent wings, I would leave it just like that (but some glass back in it) spend all the effort on the motor, a nice 383, roller cam, with a TH400 (unless you wanna be a bad ass and get the Muncie 4spd) will run really fast, you could get in the tens for $5-$6k bucks, and most people never expect a car that looks like that to be fast, they just laugh untill they see your tail lights, I want to do a 67-69 Camaro someday, I still have a money pit Landcruiser to finish.

most of the glass is there, it needs a rear, front and passanger side vent window.
the car is at my parents house in the high desert, if i put motor in it and bring it home, it will rust to nothing living by the beach. good example is my 92gti. so replacement body panels are the first priority. then the brakes are next. those four wheel drums scare me. as for motor combo, ls1 all alluminum with a six speed is what i'm thinking. i'm looking for that 50/50 weight dist. whant to make it more of a handler than a 1/4 mile car. but then it only takes money

My dad is currently rebuilding a '67 or '68, can't remember the year. It originally had a 6 cylinder and Powerglide in it. I bought him a 327 shortblock for christmas, balanced and blueprinted for 8500rpms, 9:1 pistons. He just got a Turbo 400 from a buddy of his. Now if he would just get to work putting the pieces together.
I'm jealous dude. It's not everyday you find a free Camaro that's in decent shape.
And a #2 on the sides will make for a wicked mullet.

Very nice ride. And For free?? OH man you are about 4 g's ahead of the game right now. I've got a couple muscle cars as well as a serious hook up on Chevy crap. My Unlce is big time into street racing in the Sac valley area so if you need something hit me up, i.e. carbs, manifolds, distributors, stuff like that. I just sold my 70 El Camino had 355 with world sportsman II heads, Comp 282 cam, Super T-10 4 speed, and 150 shot of Nitrous all done by him. Was descently quick and shut down every import that came my way. Was a good time. Currently looking for something old and Ford to put a full built 351 Cleveland into.

oh damn!! time for a rare experimental JZGTE motor transplant.
as for the mullet.....just make sure you got the whole fam involved....mom...pops....and the dog....otherwise they might try to make fun ...... but if they got the same hair-do...they cant say shiot! just give it to them while they sleep. =o)
congrats on the project car...looks like its gonna be fun. cant wait to see a big hole cut in the hood for a blower. ;)

good to see some muscle car fans. i swapped out the orig. pic with a photoshop pic for the licenss plate #. so the car doesnt have shaved doors. ok to keep this euro. here is a fact: bmw wheels will fit camaro's without adapters. i would suggest to use a hub centric ring. and perferably 5&7 series for the correct offset.
ok this thread can die now. now back to my mk3 dash swap on my mk2.
Good score!
But are you seriously going to restore it?
