A buddy just booked at the Imperial palace for $80/day.
Not the greatest hotel, but centrally located, plus shuttle service.

imperial palace isn't that bad, actually....had some friends stay there while we stayed at the tropicana...the imperial palace beats the tropicana by a long shot!
i'd def recommend it...especially at that price!

right now, most of the "nicer" hotels in vegas are booked.
i had a company today that called me and asked about a model, said that the model HAD to be local as they couldn't find a hotel to book. So honestly, round up anything you can. the closer to the convention center, the better, as parking at SEMA is atrocious and shuttles/taxi's aren't much quicker when everyone is in a rush to leave at 5pm...

Try Orbits or one of those sites.
We always stay at the Circus Circus.
Came out to $135 a night for 3 nights.
Its within walking distance, so no taxis or shuttles.

circus circus is still a long walk. we stayed there last year.
there isn't really any such thing as a "cheap" hotel during big conventions like sema. circus circus is normally about half that price.

Thats true
Its about a mile.
But it helps get the alcohol out of system with a brisk morning walk :)

The wife and I are staying at stateline for $20 a night and just driving in. The gas is still way cheaper than staying in Vegas for that week. Plus a couple of the Junkies already have the Luxor reserved so we have an alternate place to stay if needed ;) Plus it saves money for gambling
