i would go out, but i would definitely not win seeing as my stock car will probably lose miserably and i am probably not the best driver. i really wanna autocross though. maybe when i get my new coilovers. TMTuning has the slowest shipping ever

I should be able to make it out. Don't really care about bracket racing, though...
Steve, I'll need to get my sps3 and one of my helmets sometime this week.

DOT approved and $20. All the tech inspection info can be had at racelegal.com.
Sorry I dont have my car at this time other wise I would go. Plus I was too busy running 12.3 at 114 mph up at SAC raceway. Hope to see most of you guys at the next Fontana drags in Nov.

Congrats on the new best. What are/were the details of the run? If I run proper at the 1/8th, I'll head up to the next Fontana runs.

It's not autox, it's just 1/8th mile drag.

wut mods do u have on ur car?

Well it doesn't really matter what he has in the car since he is talking about braket racing with a "dail in". You could win with a car that runs 18 seconds in the 1/8th with an automatic trans, all you have to do is cut great reaction times and run that set 18second dial in. Now try cutting perfect lights with a 550 hp manual A4. :D anyone can do it in an automatic slow car.

Awesome time. I'm hoping for low 8's this Friday at Qualcomm, but we'll see... Shouldn't you be trapping a lot higher with that much power (550)? Or was the 550 on race gas and the 12.3 on pump? Either way, congrats again. What's your goal with the car?

It was on the 110 octane and yes I should trap faster, but the last 2 trips to the track have had throttle issues. At just 18psi I hit the max maf readings and the dbw ecu shuts the throttle to 40%. On the 12.3 run the throttle was shut like this during all of 2nd gear and all of 4th gear. This issue was logged with the vag on every run, this is one of the issues that pushed me to go stand alone now.
Goal now is to hit 500-550 whp and run mid 11's.

Stupid response: Have you tested to see how the car reacts with the maf removed? Hopefully I'll see you at Fontana next month...

I ran the car that way one time at fontana for a summit event. This was back when I was having some high rpm back fire issue which turned out to be misfires on 110 octane and was fixed by adding more timing with the lemmiwinks. I dont like the idea of running mafless because I have to lower my fpr down 10psi and since I run 2 boost settings during the run this will cause the car to run either rich or lean during one of the boost settings. To run mafless you really need to tune the car to 1 boost setting and run it like that. When I did try with the maf unplugged the car didn't misfire anymore on the street but the EGT's would get much higher because the car ran richer in the lower rpms as boost would build up.

Why the two boost settings and how are you switching between settings? EBC with the remote switch? Seems like 3psi wouldn't make that much of a difference in wheel spin, but then again, I've never driven a 500hp car...

Yes I am running a HKS EVC4 with it tied into the right button on my sparco wheel. Well it really is a gain in tq off the line with the slightly higher boost.

I tried a psuedo-dual stage with my ebc a couple of times. Didn't really help much (massive wheel spin no matter what—back when I was street tires), but there's not much of a comparison between our cars. Oh well, enough with the 101 questions; hopefully I'll get to see your car in action next month.
