Seems like i just got out in the nick of time. Or else i'd be out there serving an extra 12 month term on top of my 6 month.

Air Force Fills Army Holes in Iraq

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon is using U.S. Air Force personnel to fill in holes in Army positions in Iraq and Afghanistan, The Los Angeles Times reports.

Some of the positions the Air Force personnel are being diverted into include drivers, interrogators, prison sentries and gunners on supply trucks.

One of my coworkers (subordinates! :D) at work - an ROTC guy here at school - got orders to go to Iraq. apparentley he's in the reserves, so they don't care that he's halfway through his semester and degree at a University.

A friend of mine just finished Navy Officers school, but he's going to Hawaii, hah ... a cool girl I know back in SD is heading off to Air Force boot camp next month though, she hasn't finished Uni yet, wonder if she'll ever get the chance ...
