Yes Vince, we know you like the hooters. However, they are trying to find out were people want to meet for the get together. Hooters are very nice though. Sup buddy, long time no see.

California Speedway is definitely a possibiliy, but that wont work out til maybe the next Big GTG because that'll require lots of $$ and funding

a nice big flat area would be nice, hard to get good pics on lower parking structure levels

K1 Speed! it has quite a lot of parking, you can race go-karts, and its in northern san diego, so its not that far for the OC/LA people to drive down!

I like the K-1 idea also. Get's the competitive juices going. Lon maybe you can ask Ben to setup a Grand Prix that day. Or take up a collection and we can rent the track for a couple hours.

Considering the # of people that we'll bring, i think we'll have no problem filling that track up ;)
I voted for vegas... but that's me. I'm sure if we caravan out there really early in the morning we'll not be hassled as much........
VEGAS OR DIE!!! :corn:

Exactly so why not try to get the track to ourselves and get some runs all to ourselves for a couple hours

Hooooters!! Not only for the boobies, but it's a huge venue with space for tons of cars. The last one was off the hook. Besides K-1 isn't gonna have the means for all of us to park, let alone race carts.
The other nice aspect of Hooters is that it's free to the attendants.
And uh, think it's kind of ironic to have a SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA meet in NEVADA?!?!? i don't think a lot of people would show personally, that is a hell of a drive, and you have to really have to make a few day trip out of it. The anaheim GTG is only a one day thing and people can go to D&B or whatever afterwards.

Those are very good points.
I think we'll end up with an Anaheim GTG November time ... and do Vegas Spring or Fall of 2005

I too think that going out of state for the Big SoCal Euro gathering would not be a good idea....dont think it'd be a 'big' gtg at that point.
I have no experience with K1 so I dont know what to think about it...
I vote for something that doesnt have costs or too much cost- Anaheim spot/Hooters parking lot is such a great spot....IF, you have they're ok on it first- Mel??
I guess my vote is for a spot with adequate parking, low cost and not too far of a drive for ALL SoCal'ers. Where that may be- I dunno.
Ok, I'll shutup now. :o

Last time we were at that anaheim hooters... the bouncer was a total jerk to us for no good reason.
I would still attend but I'm not going into that hooters.
I'm down for K1.

Were talking the BIG show/meet right Lon?
AS someone who would have to make the trek for the next SoCalEuro GTG, I wouldn't waste my gas if it was held at hooters... maybe the karting track. As big as this last one was, I think you would be crazy not to make a full weekend out of it and in Vegas. Either Vegas or at California Speedway... something along those lines.
Heres why: If Im going to drive/tow my car already 8 hours to SoCal, I plan on atleast spending a few days down there. To meet @ hooters... wouldn't be worth the drive. You take a full weekend, maybe a meet/show sat', track day sunday now you've got something worth going to. Take this, move it to vegas where even if you didn't go racing, you were STILL in vegas, theres plenty of fun to be had.
Oh, even if your not 21 in vegas you can still have alot of fun.
What I would suggest, Vegas in 05. Plan a sat' show, sunday driving event of some sort (even if its as lame as just driving out to Hoover Dam... something fun). Last year you had what, even on a conservative guess 700 cars? SEVEN HUNDRED CARS! It was kind of a let down that basicly everyone showed up, sat by their car and left after 3-4 hours. Really a dissapointment imo. Theres SO much potential for more, and Im sure there' plenty of euro's in vegas too.
Anyways, I vote Vegas, but dont rush it, plan it atleast a year in advance and lets make something special out of it.
Lon, I have some friends in Vegas who have been talking about trying to setup an event like this, I can put you guys in touch if you want.

PM or email me some info for Vegas
but on the note about hooters, its called hooters because hooters is next to the parking structure and primedia's office is right there too
take a look at the pictures
http://www.dub-nation.com/show/socaleuro_gtg/1-index.html
hooters for me. its just about central between SD and LA people and we have plenty of room, and a restraunt to eat at that happens to be staffed with hot chicks,
vegas is too far unless we want to start our own Socaleuro sudo dubwars thing in vegas, maybe a big caravan, Gumball 3000 style, with a little auto cross in a parking lot and drinks poolside. that would be fun too but is alot of work to set up, but that would be my second choice.

Mostly, we will do both. We will have a Go Kart GTG and Hooters Big SoCal Euro GTG
I think estimating timeframes is end of Sept or Oct for Go Kart and Hooters Big SoCal Euro GTG prob end of November.
And Vegas GTG will be mid 2005.
