Hi guys, Ive been on vwvortex.com for around 6 months. I lurk the mk3 sections.
I just ran across your site tonight, by accident. Ive been looking for a So Cal euro group for a long while.
About me, Im 16 years old, fresh license. Ive been in love with European cars since I was about 4. I knew the mk3 was for me when I was about 9 or 10 so I saved until my 16th. I purchased a mk3 2.slow around 7-8 months ago. It has been a real experience. New clutch, flywheel, clutch cable, distributer, wires, and worst of all I ended up needed a new tranny which is waiting to go in tomorrow.

I hope to be around here for many more days to come, and maybe meet some of you guys in the future. I was at dubfest, I didnt realize how many more Volkswagen or Euro enthusiasts are in California.

Keep it real guys. Looks like a great place you got runnin' here. Keep up the good work. I hope I can contribute some.

but to answer your question and put it in perspective, I'm 22 and a little on the young side of the group.

If you are comfortable with those who are your teachers, look at the local community we have built here as your teachers, regardless of our age. If you have a question (after using the search feature ;)), then ask it. We are all really nice. And it sounds like you might be able to teach us a thing or two!

As far as the average age... at GTGs at least, probably mid-20s. But, we've got some teens that cruise out too, and they're super cool.

yea bro dont be shy to go to the GTGs because of your age. i started goin with a couple buddies when i was 17. then i started just going by myself. you learn a lot and everyone will usually answer any questions you have about your car or there car. really good inviorment to be in. as soon as i get my G60 out the shop i should be a regular again. if you still haven't gone to a gtg by then you will have to roll to one with me so you can truely be one of us, LoL. -Mike
