passat with a VR6, you cant go wrong there, and they did a damn nice job on the car too, plus its only a matter of time before there is a S/C kit for that monster

1. Touareg
2. Passat 3.6

It is also a misuse of the term VR when discussing VW 6cylinder motors. The VR6 has not used in the Passat since the B5 chassis was released. The passat uses a standard V6 motor. VR translates to V Reihenmotor. The combination of the two can be roughly translated as "in-line Vee." The VR6 was specifically designed for transverse installation in front wheel drive vehicles. By using the narrow 15° VR6 engine, it was possible to install a six-cylinder engine in existing Volkswagen models. A wider V6 engine of conventional design would have required lengthening existing vehicles to provide enough crumple zone between the front of the vehicle and the engine, and between the engine and the passenger cell. In addition, the VR6 is able to use the firing interval of an Inline-6 engine. As a result, it is nearly as smooth as an Inline-6. The narrow angle between cylinder banks also allows just two camshafts to drive all of the valves, and a single cylinder head to be used.

Oh by the way, you can pick up new '05 V8 Touaregs fully loaded(literally every option available) for $44k (MSRP = $55k) right now.

Tough question ... you're asking "which one of these would you get," but the poll asks "which car should I get next?" :p

I'd personally take the Volvo. Mmm, fast brick.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Touareg: NO NO NO, not with these gas prices (and 7bucks a gallon in Finland).

I wish the Passat Variant were in the market earlier (3.6L 4Motion won't be here 'til nect summer, boo).

Paul, Audi S8 is not a wagon :D

Volvo V70R is just so tempting, you can't beat the specs/price combo although Passat is very close.

The VW is nice, but the Volvo and Audi look more sophisticated. Also, the Audi looks sexier than all of them. You already now my obvious choice. Good luck.

I didn't read most of the thread, so I don't know who recommended what. But I say E60 5-series. Get a 545i or 550i.
