They just released the 06 NASA race schedule.
February 11 &12, Willow Springs Raceway
March 10 &12, California Speedway
April 9 &10, Buttonwillow Raceway
May 6 & 7, Willow Springs Raceway
June 11 & 12, Buttonwillow Raceway
July 8 & 9, Willow Springs Raceway
Aug 5 & 6, Willow Springs Raceway
September 11-17th, National Championship Event @ Mid Ohio
October 14 & 15, Buttonwillow Raceway
November 11 & 12, Buttonwillow Raceway

Something of interest you will find is the September date.
Thats right, a Nationals event for all the NASA classes PLUS the TT series. The chance to race against the best of the best from around the nation. Awsome!

TT is time Trials.

Basically Time Trials is like Solo2 in that you are looking for ONE fast lap time. You are racing on the track with other cars, however you are not racing for position. Contact doesnt happen which is why the rules are slack. You can race a completely stock car if you want. (I recomend upgrading some of the safety items at the minimum.)

So basically your car starts out in a class. Then you point out the car. Depending on what mod you have done, you get points. Get enough points and you bump up a class or more. Much more info here for Socal guys:

The only downside is, to run in TT you have to show some previous track experience. Otherwise there is the HPDE program that you work up thru to TT.

Ive run with the SCCA for alot of years. Ive only run with NASA for 1 season and I really like the NASA crew. Best events ever.

Anyway, my main reason for posting this is to hopefully bring out more VW's to the NASA events. Im the lone dubber out there and theres alot of classes that can be taken over. We ARE competative. I will be back in 06 to defend my TTE championship as well as attending the first Nationals event.

If I can help with questions or get you in contact with the right people, ask up. Look around the sites, check out the rules and what not.

So, hope to see some of you guys out there!

That looks like some good fun right there. My car is in the shop atm but I figured out my jetta is class E but my mods bump me up 2 classes to C. Looks like I'll be getting suspension sooner.

HPDE1 is a great place to start! Instructors provided with classroom instruction. Just like Racerfactory only NASA runs each month.
