Like the Post says, I am selling My 2002 GTI 1.8t which I pretty much just finished building.
This car has been meticulously taken care of and it shows in the looks and performance. No short cuts were taken and I bought right, not twice on all the upgrades. Oil changed every 3k and only premium fuel since the car rolled off the lot. I have all receipts for everything listed below and since the beginning of time for this car. Power everything except seats, sunroof etc.


Car has 160k on it.




Maintenance
-
New Turbo, and everything that goes along with that at 150k
-Timing belt, waterpump, and thermostat done at 130k
-Last week I did r32 front control arm bushings, Upper strut mounts & bearings,
cam chain tensioner seals, and valve cover gasket
-In the last month I did wheel bearings and ball joint on the driver side.
-New Driver OEM axle, has 6k miles on it.
-New battery and terminals
- New ignition switch and Ignition lock cylinder
-New coolant ball cap
-Just changed the oil breather hose and the hard one that connects to it
-Power steering fluid changed 10k miles ago
-MT90 transmission fluid done 10k miles ago
-Shift linkage adjustment just done, Transmission feels like new:thumbup:
-Brakes are good 70% front, 90% rear with new rotors

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the car. What is wrong is that I cannot fully enjoy it because I work too much and the car just sits in the garage all day while I'm stuck at work. My loss would definitely be your gain. In my opinion, the only thing missing is some nice forced induction and whatever detail you'd add to the car. The car drives/runs immaculately. I bought it as the second owner (previously owned by an old Russian man who babied the car.) Obtained it with 101,000 on the clock and is now at 116k and some change.
A little details about the car...
Exterior:
- Professionally repainted an OEM VW Aircooled color called Anthracite Grey. There are no flakes or metallics in this paint. Beautiful, solid grey color!
- Authentic OEM Vento front and rear texture top bumpers.
- Textured door moldings.
- OEM 4-bar Vento grill.
- Smoked Vento Ecodes.
- Smoked GLX fogs, dummy center plate, and turnsignals.

I replaced the driver side control arm w/ new bushings, the rack and pinion and a brand new battery. There are a few things that need to be fixed to make this a daily driver:
Needs to get an alignment
Brake lights dont work
Fog lights dont work, all other lights do
Rear passenger wheel seems bent, might need a new rear axle beam
Passenger side door handle does not work, but can open it with the installed aftermarket alarm
Currently registered as not operating, registration is up to date


With all said car does run but i wouldn't recommend driving it over 60mph because of the alignment and rear wheel. Drove it back from San Diego with no issues.
Im looking to get 1700 firm, ive invested about 2400 in it(including price of the car). my loss is your gain.

Maintenance/Repairs: catalytic converter, oxygen sensor, headliner, heater core, water pump, timing belt, accessory belts, wires, plugs, distributor, axles, ball joints, injectors, starter, gaskets, the list goes on...


Hood could use some new paint and rear passenger door has some scratches.
Overall this is very nice car. Rides nice and sounds great.

I am technically the third owner of this car; First owner bought the car new, and for whatever reason only kept it ~4k miles. Second owner bought the car and owned it until 50k miles, when I purchased it. He only sold it because he bought an E63 AMG.
This car is a prime example of pride of ownership. All maintenance done on time or early, no expenses spared. Both the previous owner and myself are Euro enthusiasts and very OCD about our cars, so exceptional care has been taken of this car. A San Diego car, it has been garaged its entire life, parked a mile away from anyone in parking lots so has no door dings or dents, and a custom fit sunshade was always used if parked in the sun for any length of time. Interior is immaculate, back seat has only had people in a handful of times. No pets, smoking, kids or food.
Car is fully hand -detailed twice a month using only high-end products. Clay bar done twice a year.
Car has never been tracked, launched hard or otherwise abused. Adult owned, and very selectively modified.
I work from home, and as such only drive this car 300-500 miles a month. Any driving done is commuting from my home in Temecula to my companies offices in San Diego or Irvine, so all highway miles.

I have a 3inch thick binder of every single maintenance record and receipt since day 1. Oil changes under my ownership always performed between 3-4k miles using Lubro Moly Oil. You will not find a more well documented GTI. For any modifications made, all stock parts were retained and stored away safely. This car is a daily driver and not a garage queen, so don't expect one. This car has been well maintained. It is a California car, so no rust except for a couple of scratched paint patinas.

The good stuff:
12,xxx miles on a rebuilt 2.0l 9A motor. New valves, bearings, water pump, timing belt, Aux belts, etc. CARBed approved header, with new CAT and new cat back TT exhaust system. Recently passed CA smog.
Power Windows and door locks.
Power Recaro seats
TSW EVO Wheels, 15X7ET35
Good Toyo Proxse 4s, 195/15/50
Black headliner with all the black trim pieces.
Koni adjustable shocks with Neuspeed Sport springs.
Later model under hood tray, and hood vent screens.
Rebuilt HVAC system. Heater box rebuilt with new foam on the flappers and new AC compressor.
New front Grill
Gli front spoiler in good shape and mounted properly. All fender and door trim in good shape.
Rubber trim above door in very good shape. Both replaced in the last 4 years.
Trans has .80 5th gear.

Less than 2,xxx miles on:
Corrado hub carriers with new bearings
New 280X22 front rotors
Girling G60 front calipers from 90 Audi CQ
New 22mm master brake cylinder
New Mintex Red brake pads front and rear
New front brake lines
New Driver's side CV boot.
New tie rod ends.

The BAD:
Radio is crap and no rear speakers
Passenger door automatic lock does not work. The pump is fine, but is missing the plastic clip to attach the pump to the lock arm.
Has some small dents and scrapes. Could use paint.
The holder for the driver's side rear window switch has a broken clip and won't stay attached to the door.
The current gauge cluster reads 257,xxx miles, but the car only has 217,xxx. Tach went bad, and it was difficult finding a cluster at all. I didn't change the speedo, because I did not want to remover the plastic gauge board. I still have the original cluster.
Dash is cracked. Have another uncracked dash that comes with the car. I didn't have the uncracked dash, when we rebuilt the HVAC, so it was not replaced at that time.
Has a salvage title. Parking lot bender, took out the driver's fender, gill and headlight, but the insurance company wrote it off anyway. Damage was estimated at $467. They felt it was cheaper to give us $2600 for the car. I replaced the fender, grill and headlight for less than $100.
I have the driver's side under dash tray. You will have to install it.
I have the rear spoiler, but it is off the car right now.

I want $3000 for the car.

I purchased the car in March of 2012 with 99k for 25k it was the only 6 speed s4 for sale in the entire country. Car is fully loaded with Bluetooth navigation it had the CF trim but I installed the oem rs4 cf trim so I sold the old trim to a fellow Avant owner on the forums, every package on the car expect back up sensors, so RNSE and all that good stuff. The car was a single owner car so I am the second owner. To clarify it has the rnse and every package minus the back up sensors. So that includes front and rear heated seats.




Stuff I've done, well I spent around 17k for all the rs4 exterior parts. The only original s4 part on the car is the roof & trunk lid so even the front hood is the lighter oem rs4 hood. The car is originally DG but every rs4 part is black so the car essentially is 85% black underneath wrap. I have the full rs4 interior as well, front & rear seats, shift knob, steering wheel, cluster, trim, door cards with the privacy shades in the rear as they were purchased with the doors. I think on the interior alone I spent around 4k. The car also has Stasis Motorsport Suspension which cost about $4,300 but I know they are running a group buy right now, I also have done the RS4 front brakes with the JHM lightweight and larger rotors and that entire brake set up cost me about $3,500. I have also added a full miltek system with the miltek cats, DPs, and resonated system but I have removed the internals for the cats to run a catless system but I do have the original cats as well and I have removed the quad tips and welded on oem rs4 tips that have been powder coated flat black. Also the oem roof rails have been powder coated flat black. I have also gotten the oem TI RS4 grill with the TI filler plate. Also all 4 fender liners as well.


Maint, the car has only gone through 2 oil changes since I've owned it. I have done new valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, tranny fluid changed to Motuls, and I think that's about it. I haven't really driven it to often but the car is mechanically sound. All the parts on this car are oem and all the prices I've listed are without the labor. As its been mentioned in my thread I build custom cars and so I did most of the work minus the welding in of the rear quarters as I am not as much of an expert like my associates but the process was done correctly and no shortcuts were taken. I am sure there is a few more things I haven't mentioned but I will re-read this later and see if I can think of anything I left out or if you can think of any questions please let me know. You are also more than welcome to contact me and ask me anything Ive left out. I do have a rs4 motor, ecu, trans, rear diff as well, but you must add $9,000 extra for the rs4 driveline.
