Anyone know where I can get a cheap set of good locking lugs?

Edit: Found some OEM locks on eBay. Any better suggestions than the OEM? They are $5 online, but another $5 for shipping. So maybe just $5 at the dealer, or is that a stretch?

Wheels locks are about $4 each at the dealer..... but the actual key lock, is $23 i think... and it includes one lug. Hope that helps, they arent cheap...

I checked these out. They look like the same thing as the OEM keys, only $40, instead of $10 on ebay. Am I missing something?

Ask yourself this, would you put a cheap lock on your door at home? Spend the money and get the right product. The design of the rad locks and depth of the locking head make them vastly better than most of the locks on the market. I have yet to hear about anyone stripping a key on the RAD locks.

If you want to save money go with the oem, if you want the best go RAD.

these are the ones i run on my car ... ive got a couple sets from Mike @ PureMs

highly recommend the RAD stuff ... their normal bolts are very high quality and their wheel locks are matching finish and very clean

they look like regular bolts, stealthy looking

RAD locks are the only stuff i get for my aftermarket wheels

I run the RAD locks from purems on my car as well. $40 is a small price to pay when you consider how much the wheels cost.

You make a good point here. My thinking is if someone wants to get your wheels off, they will. All they need is the key. So is the key different on the RAD set-up, than the OEM? Because if they are the same, then it doesn't make any sense to use the RAD, other than them being stronger - no stripping.

Keys are different and within RAD there are many different keys, over 50 infact.

My RAD keys are totally different than the OEM keys. and as Pauls said they have many different RAD keys

Who's had they're wheels stolen in the driveway lately? Most thieves will just steal the car, take it to a secure location and then take their time removing everything they want. Every wheel lock is beatable, trust me, I worked for a tire shop and have removed many different wheel locks without the key, not going to say how to do it, but it's not very difficult. Basically wheel locks are another way for shops to make money by playing off our insecurities.

I agree. The same goes for having a car alarm. Just makes you feel a little bit better about leaving your car outside.

Just curiosity, do you have stock wheels or aftermarket? Just asking because most aftermarket wheels and lugs are acorn shaped and most newer stock VW lugs and wheels are ball shaped. Using the wrong lugs on your wheels can lead to problems down the road since the contact area is greatly reduced. Just an FYI.

As for the TT fat fives, aren't those like the factory wheels? I'd assume they use the same ball type lugs if so. I have a set of stock VW wheel locks with the black plastic caps I don't need. If they'll work for you let me know, I'll be in Poway the 27th through 29th, you can have the wheel locks if you want to pick them up.

RAD locks are the best. i got them from mike kim. totally helped me out find out the locks i needed.
