No one's touching mine. It works, it's always worked, and no recall will tell me differently.

Re: Another Recall on VW brake light switches

Let's just say this. My car has never had a problem with any of the recall issues. The windows never fell, the coolant temp sensor never failed, the coilpacks never died, and the brake light switch runs just fine.

Granted, I changed out my temp sensor just in case, and Timmons Long Beach claims they changed the coilpacks as a preventative measure during my second to last warrantied service. But the windows, as far as I know, are still using plastic rails and the brake light switch is an original piece.

But I do have other crap wrong with, all completely due to my tinkering; like why I can't boost past 16psi even though the ECU wants 19... it's been two years and I still don't know why. I'd rather focus this and the fact that I still need to install my 2003+ style side mirror housings with built-in blinkers after having the damned plastic pieces in my closet for almost three years. No worries, Eric, Murphy's with me, all right.

    Never touched mine either.
But then, I'm not often behind my car, so the entire rear lighting system could be out and I'd never know until the semi rear-ended me...

    Nope.
I did the window regulator thing 5 times though(in a 2 door car, you do the math).
