    Barbeque Brands

I'm looking for a barbeque since summer is coming and I'm wondering what brands and models people have had that they liked or disliked.

I have a little portable weber that has been awesome to me so I've been looking at the weber genesis models.

My parents have a ducane which is holding up amazingly well given the abuse it suffers but I'm thinking I'd rather not spend so much now since I live in a condo and get a bigger, better bbq at a later date.

stick with webber. i dont know any specific models but if you get a decent stand up webber and a charcole starter you'll be golden. no lighter fluid is the way to go. and gas grills are for weenies

I'm a weenie then... I'm looking for a gas grill right now. I love charcoal grills but right now I need convenience and I don't think charcoal would mix well with my HOA in the condo.

I have a portable [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Weber-Baby-Q-Portable-Gas/dp/B0000E6GHI/sr=1-2/qid=1151621477/ref=pd_bbs_2/103-8742035-4141444?ie=UTF8&s=garden]Weber Baby Q[/ame] gas grill that does an admirable job. You can snag that plus the [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Weber-Q-Rolling-Cart/dp/B0000EI9BK/ref=e_deav_acc_1_3/103-8742035-4141444?ie=UTF8]folding rolling cart[/ame] for it, which makes it such a convenient grill to put in the trunk.

There are larger Weber Q grills as well, if you're looking to feed over six people.

It's a CharBroil as well - bought it at Home Depot. It has the covers over the flame so it cooks with indirect heat. Less flare-ups that way.

I've been through so many BBQs over the years that I usually go for a middle-of-the-road model. They're usually a good compromise between affordability and reliability.

I love charcoal as well - just too much of a pain in the ass on a continual basis. The convenience is nice after working all day. Most times, throwing something on the grill is easier (and cheaper) than going out for dinner.

I use to work at a bbq store. Basicaly you get what you pay for. The more expensive ones will last you alot longer, and replacement parts are much easier to come by. Look into Firemagic, Ducane and Vermont Castings. Whatever you get make sure you get porcelein enameled cooking grids as they are much easier to clean.

    Re: Barbeque Brands

So far, a run of the mill ducane pedestal grill is winning for me.

I may be a little OCD but I think I'm gonna snag my parents for a weekend to see how much space it takes up on the patio and where the wind blows the smoke. I was thinking about it and I though it would be nice to have an idea of what to expect and where exactly its going to have to sit when its being used. Nothing would be worse then buying a shiney new grill and having it render my balcony completely unusable or smoke me out of my condo.

Bet y'all never knew how much thought went into buying a grill for a geek like me.

    LOL
Some of us aren't surprised in the least.

The only way I'd be that OCD about a grill is if we were shopping for a built-in. In that case, you want to make sure you do your research and price shopping.

To get the job done all you need is a Char-broil. I had a cheap ass char-broil for almost two years and went through four tanks of gas and it never let me down. if you are a looking to step up get a Webber.

    Re: Barbeque Brands

My parents have had a weber gas grill for over 5 years now. The nice thing about it was that when the grills and flame projectors wore out you can order replacement parts to make them as good as new.

    Re: Barbeque Brands

Man, you guys either need to turn down the grill or quit leaving it on so long.
I grill 4 or 5 nights a week in the summer, and I use about 2 tanks a year.
