    I believe they are to help adjust the light level... if not, they are just from the moulds used to make the lens.

    What grit sand paper do you use to take off the oxidized layer?

    It really depends on how damaged they are. I have started with 600 before Whatever I start with, I end with 2000.

    Good to know. I actually tried some 3M stuff that a friend had with a electric buffer and got the lenses on my Jeep pretty clear. I could have pressed harder or buffed longer, but I didn't want to burn the lenses. I keep a coat of PlastX on there and if they cloud up again maybe I'll try some sandpaper. Thanks.
