My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
Definitely not my first hand gun that I have handled, but the first that I actually own.
I was going to go with the 17, but the wife is more comfertable with the 19, and my buddy just happened to be selling his 19 with a chipped guide pin. So I got it off him for $300, and ordered a new Stainless Steel guide pin for $20 shipped.
End note, here is my first toy I got for $320. It came with (1) Glock 10 round, and a couple other mags. As I understand 15 round mags will extend from the bottom, so I don't plan on getting any for the 19.

So, it is missing one Glock mag, and the formed Glock case, but I figured $300 was a good price.
It is the first of many I hope to have one day. Not just glocks, but a healthy assortment.
I still remember Tom's Safe when I bought the tool box from him... still jealous!

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
Yeah, he's got a .45 Colt 1911 with a $250-300 surfire on it, comp trigger, and some other stuff going for $600... if there is interest. I would have purchased it along with the Glock if I had the dinero.

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
I hope you handled the transfer through a FFL.
Other than that it's a pretty good price. Glocks are solid pistols.
Grats on the purchase
Now start collecting 1 / month

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
Nice, $300 is a good price for sure, and that thing is pretty indestructible, you could store it in the cat box if you wanted too. Unless you are law enforcement, don't get caught with anything over 10 round capacity in it.

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
I wish I had a glock . . . the wifes hands are a bit small so I didn't like where her finger sat on the trigger (or finger tip). We ended up getting a Beretta Cheetah, no complaints . . . smaller version of the M-9 . . . grip is much skinnier so her hand wraps around the weapon better. Keeps her from jerking the trigger . . . but the weapon itself is heavier then the glock

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
SIG is nice for people with smaller hands, as is the Springfield XD, I have giant man hands so I have a hard time with most handguns

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
Yea, we went to Iron sights and hashed out the FFL paperwork and I waited my 10 days. I actually picked up the gun 1 week ago today. So I guess you can add the $30 or so I paid for the transaction fee.
Paul, dunno if I can afford 1/month, but it sure sounds good. Plus, I gotta buy a safe with or just before the purchase of my next (it is a promise I made to myself). Whatever it is I get next, it'll either be a small .380 type, .357 revolver, or .45 Glock, XD, or 1911.
Guess we'll see how time plays things out.
Oh yes, if anybody has interest in my buddies 1911, lemme know and I'll get picks.

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
Is it an actual Colt 1911, or a tribute (I hate the word knock off since so many company's meet or exceed the originals standard) like a Kimber, etc. etc

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
Great deal, Glock isn't my first choice, but you can't beat the price and reliability of the gun. Hope you enjoy it!

Re: My FIRST new (to me) Pistol
It is an actual Colt as I remember. I referred to it as a Springfield, and he abruptly corrected me... "Colt, Bro".
I went with the Glock b/c I have the most experience in handleing the Glock 17, Beretta P92 and M9. So, of the three, I went Glock, and 19 over 17 to include the wife
