BMW 1 Series-What to expect to pay at dealer?

    Hey everyone,

My father is in the market for a new 1 Series, most likely a 128. Was wondering what he is looking to pay for one. They seem to have a widespread from 33k range up to 45k.

Basically looking for an alpine white or crimson red, automatic, black standard interior. Any ideas on what the bottom line price would be out the door?

    Thanks in advance-
    Currently nothing... its kinda strange

you will have to shop it, best bet is to build on online, the options list is huge and expensive so figure out what you want, then order a car. we had a 135 on the lot for $45K sticker.......

actually, the 1 series is pricey once you add some options

base 135 will go for $34k, but once you add sport package your up at $38k ... and couple more options, and your over $40k and full loaded $45k

Re: BMW 1 Series-What to expect to pay at dealer?

Man, I went in to the dealership, looked at a few 135 *almost* fully loaded. Even if I put down $25,000 (sell my car personally) on a $43,000 price tag; I still would be paying about $500 a month for 5 years on a payment plan. And apparently that was with 'low' APR, never gave me the numbers.
The 135 is tempting, but if I am going to get it, get it now because the new 09 models will put it into limp mode (so I've heard) if it boosts high, logs it in the ecu, so when you go to the dealer to get it out of limp made they see you chipped it (even with the juice removed) and void warranty.

Meh, insurance would kill me on that car anyway .

Re: BMW 1 Series-What to expect to pay at dealer?

how did they figure financing of $18,000 would cost $500 a month for 60 months? Thats ludicrous. With a decent APR it should be right around the $400 mark, if not lower

They saw me, how I'm 'young' and tried to take me for everything I had (which is nothing besides my car ).

If I could get it sub $350 a month, I would almost jump on one right there. But my 'sense tells me just to get fueling for my car and shut up.

    Whats the difference between a 128 and a 136?

For that amount of money you could buy 80 1987 volkswagen golfs.

Sheeeeesh, 43k? That's more than what I paid for my fully loaded 530!?!?!?!? They should also have some promos going through bmw finance also. Or take the amount to a credit union to get a better rate. But there is no way it would be $500/month

I just calculated it, and you're right. @43k, no matter if you trade in, or come in with 23k, you'd have payments around $471 @ 6.94% apr. There's no way for you to talk them down? Or even if they have one that was driven off the lot, that would save you some bucks. Just remember, it take about 4k just to lower your payment by about$100 a month. So it may not be a reality, as I highly doubt they will lower the price to 36k, which would give you payment of around 320/month.

Maybe if you eliminated some features??

Primarily it is the engine which in the 135i you get a twin turbo 6 with 300hp. You also get larger brakes and the M Body kit with the sports package. A few other small interior things as well.

They are quick, but, the days of box tuning and down pipes are over, stick to the S4. Dinan software is $2K, 385HP, 421TQ............. no quattro.

Model overlap. same thing as you can pay more for a 3 series than a base 5 series.
