There is a shop that specializes in Italian cars somewhere in Westminster or HB, I will look for it.

the guy doing the rebuild on my 16V grew up building and racing fiats with his dad. he's been at it for most of his life. he's around 40 something or 50 and owns a shop in old town orange. he's a good honest guy who can make your fiat do whatever you want it to. i'll pm you his info if you'd like

I found a few places, one place that builds performance bits for X's that just happens to be located 5 or 6 blocks from my place! Also my friends shop that mostly specializes in RX-7's has some experience working on the X and they also have a few race prep'd 944's that i can oogle at.

But the best part is, the current owner just took it into his shop up in san jose. He is having a full service done on it, and so it will be tip-top when I pick her up, I may have to go for a trip down the 101 and the 1 when I drive her home!

You can try checking out PBS Engineering in Garden Grove. They're a tuner for Fiats.

Make sure to check out IAP - International Auto Parts. Best source in the country for Fiat parts. They have a decent website, but not everything from their catalog is on the site. Make sure to order a free catalog from them.

Yeah Dan does wonders with Fiats. He built and races an X1/9 that's really buttoned down. If anyone knows them, it's him.

Ahh, I ran into another X a few months back and he mentioned them also. I have driven past it many times but never stopped to check it out. I will do so when I have the car up and running again.

A lot is happenign with the car right now. Engine rebuild, new paint soon, replacing clutch master & slave, replacing brake master, new radiator (from a 16v Sciracco), and more.

After all that is done, I might need somewhere to clean up the mess i leave behind lol.

I guess I will add some photo's taken after I picked her up.
    The drive home on HW1,

    w/o bumpers

    w/o engine!

new radiator, grill, and front spoiler

dang! my aunt used to have the same exact one back in 86' I believe. If you need to know, yes a 7 year old kid can in fact fit below the passenger seat comfortably.

There is a good amount of leg room for such a small car

So the engine is out being rebuilt, should be done early this coming week. Its a rather beefy build, hoping to bring the stock 75bhp closer to 130bhp.

I did some more weight reduction, and got a new pedal set and steering wheel. The car should be down to around 1900 lbs, if I get the 130 bhp out of the engine that I am looking for I will have 14.6:1 pounds per bhp.

Planning on driving her out to Wustefest09

I just remember them flattening one between two semi's on Mythbusters (and ruining one corvette, a bunch of E34's and some MB's)

Oh yes, much has been made. Though I didnt hit my 130bhp mark yet, im still working on it. Its sitting at 80bhp and 80 torque, on a partial tune. Some more headwork, cams, and a tune should put me up more.

Currently the car has 10.5:1 compression, big valve head, haltech FX10 fuel management, spec stage3+ clutch, lightened flywheel, and a VW radiator from a 16v Scirocco.

As well as some maserati bi turbo 14x6 wheels waiting for a spit shine and some rubber.

    Stock is 2100.

I have done about as much weight reduction as you can do without replacing body panels and cutting into the car. I am thinking it is about 1900 lbs right now. It is a tad faster then mk1 mr2's and 90's Miatas.
