    Re: CMMG AR15 lower

I went with a DPMS A2 upper. 16" carbine with an M4 style flash hider & M4 feed ramps. It's a heavier barrel than the CMMG by a couple of pounds, but from what I read, it stands up to heavier grain rounds better. I did compromise by getting a 1-9 twist instead of 1-7 NATO spec, but did so on expert advice... a SEAL master chief was telling me that with the 1-7 twist, certain rounds he used actually disintegrated before they hit the target because the jacket couldn't handle the rotational speed. So the 1-9 twist was more reliable with a wider range of ammo.

Now what I want to do is find a nice foam lined case where I can keep the upper and lower field stripped, so it takes up less room and is harder for the uninformed to just casually bust it out and use it. I do plan to keep a receiver lock on the lower as well as keeping the gun taken apart, and inside a locked case inside a gun safe. Not worth taking any chances with inquisitive munchkins around.
