Local shop for air-cooled trans work?

Probably should just PM mike, but figure I will throw it out here. I picked up a supposedly functional freeway flyer I want to have rebuilt for my bug. Figure I can toss it in when I put the new "highway" engine project in this fall/winter. Any of my air-cooled brothers know of a loacl shop with a good rep I can drop this thing off at?

Not to say there isn't any, but I know of none in SD. Lots of capable shops up here in LA/OC/Riverside area. Take out your pass seat and put it in the floor and drive up.

Well if it comes to that, I would just throw it in back of the Scion and run it up.

I am surprised, figured there would be a much bigger air-cooled scene here, but looks like most of it is up in the LA area...

LA/OC has always been the aircooled base. Likely always will.

I was just gonna mention those guys. I have no personal experience with them, but I've heard good things about their air cooled stuff.
