funny throttle

so my 1.8t has been having this stranged throttle issue since i went with an apr chip a couple months ago. it happens around mid throttle and it sounds like im revving the motor back and forth. the strange thing is that it doesnt effect the power at all really. when i drive it hard i never hear it. just wondering if anyone has experienced this. thanks

Sounds like Boost Surging might want to think about switching to Copper Core Spark Plugs and a N75 J or Race valve to solve your issues. Good luck.

i am running the j valve and the dealer recommended plugs which if i remember correctly were iridium.

Iridium plugs are fine if you are running stock but you are chipped, I would recommend using a Copper core NGK plug do a search on the forums they are much nicer and won't glow when you are boosting hard. My car surges at mid throttle as well but its just because its chipped and I am use to it.

NGK BKR7E's gapped at .28 and call it a day...im APR chipped and my car runs great!

good luck goin bt! i called all over today and no one carries those plugs so i just ordered them from mjm. they will be here this week. thanks for the help.

yeah that is where i ordered mine from too. they work great...i think they are recommended to be changed out with every oil change but im not 100 percent on that...

yea i was reading they last max around 10-15k miles. i will check them at my 1st change and if they are toast then i will replace them. if not then im shooting for every other oil change.

yeah...im doing the same...at least they are 12 a set instead of 12 a piece for the OEM plugs....

i do mine every oil change and i have a bigger turbo ( k04 023 ) in my beetle and have no problems but make sure gap is correct if not it runs like crap

i drive a black mk4 jetta stock stance on lb's. im assuming you probably live near me cause you were getting off on the same offramp as me, hidden valley pkwy. and i think i saw you one other time off main around parkridge. i live near the cresta verde golf coarse.
