09 taxes....unemployment and no state tax taken out

Anyone have any expirence with being unemployed for a long duration of time and the state of california not taking out state tax from each check....I was pretty much collecting unemployment for the entire year of 09, had money taken out for federal tax with each check...now with it being tax time and I am going through my paper work I see there is no notation of state tax taken out from each check, only money for federal funds, and of course the EDD form does not have a check box to have money taken out for state tax just for federal......hope that made sense

Anyone have some insight to this ? There are probably a few of us on here that took unemployment checks this year ....

Your situation sounds like military retirees in CA... They get fed taxes taken every month, but not state. In the case of military retirees, they have to pay CA taxes annually.

It would be ironic, but not far fetched, for you to owe state taxes on your unemployment checks.
