Anybody know of good training techniques/tips or even links to some good sites on the topic?
When I picked up my husky few months ago he was pretty well behaved but didn't do too well on commands. But now he's actually doing real well with all the basic commands like sit, stay, come here, lay down, and even knows "paw" on visual command.
Main reason I'm asking is when we walk to the park he will be pretty aggressive towards small dogs. I've never taken him off the leash as I'm worried as to what could happen. He absolutely loves people even small children, and I'm not worried there. With dogs his size or larger, I can keep him on a short leash and block his view of them with my body without much trouble. But with small dogs it can be some work. Doing my research for several months before I adopted my husky, I know a strong prey drive towards small animals is very common with the breed. I can probably feed his curiosity towards larger dogs, but keep him away and on his leash just in case. Anybody have experience training their dog with a strong prey drive?
