Advice: Cordless Impact Wrench
Anyone use cordless impact wrenches? Im still using the OEM wrench from the trunk to take off the lugs. I hoped that my crappy Ryobi Impact Driver would take off my lugs, whaaaaawhaaaaaaa.
Suggestions? I don't need anything too expensive, i would love a SnapOn, but a bit pricey for me.

Re: Advice: Cordless Impact Wrench
Home Depot has a special on their Milwaukee impact driver. Buy the kit and get a free battery. (Already comes with two batteries and the charger for a total of 3 batteries)
1400 in-lbs of torque (almost 117 ft lbs)
5 year warranty on the tool, 2 years on the battery
Batteries are lithium ion
Internals are metal vs most other brands using plastics inside.

Car and Driver just did a review on cordless impact wrenches. They really like the Bosch Impactor.

Re: Advice: Cordless Impact Wrench
Ive got the Ingersoll Rand Titanium cordless impact, and I wouldnt trade it for anything else. Use it several times a day, everyday. Definitely do not go cheap, and buy one of the better known brands such as IR.

Re: Advice: Cordless Impact Wrench
ingersoll or snap on....get a 1/2 drive impact, not a 3/8....or what a you could do is buy a 18in or 2ft water pipe from a hardware store as a breaker bar for leverage and use that together with your OEM L-shaped tire wrench to break the lug bolts loose first, then use your ryobi finish off the job, if you're on a budget and don't want to get a new impact gun.

1/2" Snap On or IR for sure. i have bought and tried several. I use the 1/2" at the house and track all the time. even pulls off axle nuts at the jyard! I use the 3/8" at the shop for litttle stuff. Dont buy cheap.

Re: Advice: Cordless Impact Wrench
4800in. lbs . . . geebuus, you swapping Caterpillar Tires??
I have the 18v Ridgid. I like it, though I haven't had to use it much, it worked better than my air tool. Came with the kit (drill/driver/ impact/ saw). Battery last long enough, could ask for a little longer, but the 30min recharge on them makes up for it. I don't have a lot of experience with this tool, so I'm just going with what I've experienced in the last year or so. All of my tools are Ridgid *insert pun*. Haven't an an issue with any one my tools. I like their compact series because, well, their small and light. I don't do work very often, but when I do, I'm usually in it for the long haul especially with remodels. Having a lighter tool makes a world of a difference for me.
