Yeah, I saw most of those cars in the Fontana and Barstow Cruise out. Went to say Hi to some Friends I haven't seen in 2 years. I felt like a 5 year old being left by his parents at the Baby sitter when everybody started to leave from Barstow. But decided getting my stitches out of my shoulder was more important. Now what we need is A Reunion of the old gang. I say we set a date and head to Vegas some time this year, To hangout like we use to do. We'll call it, "The Drive what You have Now Tour" LOL.
"FAST ISN'T FAST","SMOOTH IS FAST" "
yea cuz you'll probably have a different car by then lol

I must say, it's a hard event to have in Vegas in Summer. Would be nice to do it during a cooler season. Even my newer Audi wasnt feeling well in the 115 F temps
All you guys are troopers thats for sure, with no A/C.

Van Wilder: You shouldn't take life to seriously. You'll never get out alive.
Basically a semi/motorhome (something big) decided to torch a couple miles up ahead of us. While it lit on fire and burnt to the ground, we all were sitting still on the 15 north.
No air moving over a radiator = hard to keep temps down. There were people pulled over all over the place (new cars as well, not just VWs).
A big thank you to anyone that slung some refreshments our way while we got our freeway tan on......and a HUGE thank you to all the true VW guys who helped one another in any fashion.![]()

note to all: when driving to vegas in summer regardless of the insane cooling set up your car may have, ensure there is a cooler of goodies and every passenger also has a lawn chair.

lol, all the people rolling by us, alot of them were slowing down asking If we needed water. We would just show our beer cans and they all gave a thumbsup. We were just having a pre party on the side of the freeway, all of our cars made the trek. If we didn't have stop and go traffic for 3 miles in that heat I don't think any of us would have had any heating issues. And yea, no AC sucks but we had to roll out late to wait for a few members. Props to other VW crews for pulling over and joining our pre Wuste gtg in the desert. We focused on the journey, not the destination.

even tho it was super hot..i had a blast .. made it home in one piece and my car drove there and back with minor issues.
DCI-WEST "no one likes us and we dont care"
Kelli and I got through there just before the fire so we were lucky, but 122 degrees is pretty hard on any car. I'm pretty proud that I made it this year with no mechanical issues. I even had working MKIV AC in my MK2

What time did this happen? I left at the front of the group from Barstow and had a straight shot all the way. Glad too as I have no A/C. Moving air was needed
I drive crap. Expensive crap...
