    ANOTHER, new car.....

I switch cars like some people switch clothes. Just picked this up yesterday, 2012 JK SWB, 6spd manual, 3.73 gears, trac-loc Dana 44 rear, freedom top, power group, uconnect, Sat radio, tow package. Future mods will include armor, lift, tires, exhaust and locker. Once it break in, im off to the mountains.

    Re: ANOTHER, new car.....

Im only gonna do 33's so a small 2-2.5 I think will do. If I go bigger for 35's or 37's I have to regear and it will start stressing axles and need to change drive shafts over 3.5 I think. 33's and decent driving will carry me anywhere I want to take a new jeep.

    Re: ANOTHER, new car.....

Thanks guys. I can't wait for it to break in a little before I hit the dirt.

Nice Huitzi. I was looking at used ones, but it would have been a TJ as that 3.8 liter in the first JK's was horrible, for a car persons standpoint. Jeeps really don't lose that much value, so I just said F' it and ponied up for a new one.

The Pentastar is awesome. Power everywhere. Supposedly from what I have heard, its one of the best motors Chrysler has made to date. They have built I guess over 1 million of them from the Charger/Challenger/Jeeps and they failure rate of parts is unbelievably low.

Nice to hear man i myself had a horrible experience with a wk.. Chose that over wrangler because of the hemi being that the 3.8 was gutless but had problems with it the whole time i owned it(tranny) plus there was no flex due to the IFS but had to admit its offroad abilities were still very good.. One day once the diesel option is offered for wranglers i will get one in a heartbeat:thumbup: Enjoy the rig mike and post some pics as you start building it which is the best part

Someone please explain why we've never (to my knowledge) had a little 4X4 g2g. Nothing crazy, but a nice day in the sun with some food. Red Rock Canyon, Jawbone, Afton Canyon, Azusa dam, or maybe Stoddard Wells?

    Re: ANOTHER, new car.....

Be the one to arrange it? hehe. I went wheeling with Jason (T-Reg) and Paul (Pathfinder) from the forum when I first got the FJ and again with Jason 2-3 more times I think

First "off road excursion" with Jason... Tame trails minus the drop off.

    w/Jason & Paul in Anza.

w/Jason at Otay. That waterfall descent was a good pucker factor. Deep ruts that would swallow lifted FJs no problem.

Yes it would be fun. I need to get some proper tires first, these will serve fine for soft trail, but anything slippery or loose I will be done.
