    A New Toy...

    Hey All,

Saturday while missing out on the PureMS Open House, I made a purchase I've been anitcipating for some time.

I've been riding for years, and coming from a 1989 CR500 this bike is flat out amazing.

    2011 YZ450F

    ASV levers
    Port matched head
    K&N Intake
Dyno tuned to ~68 hp on 100 octane
KYB suspension valved and sprung to my weight and riding style
    pro taper bars
    hinson clutch
    billet throttle tube
    various works connection goodies
    excel wheels
    wave brake rotors

that's all i can think of right now....

So this leads me to ask:

    Any of you guys ride?

We should plan a SCE ride of some sort

more pics after a fresh wash today:

Yamaha is the Shiznipzapnizle for shizzle, My first motorcycle is a 2003 Yamaha YZF 600R, which I currently still have but in a few pieces, if I were to get a Dirt or Enduro it would either be a Huskie or a KTM or Yamaha.

I enjoy the dunes as well... gotta still get an 18" rear wheel for a paddle setup... i think a paddle tire on my 19" will hit the swingarm...

on way to prevent that is to set your spring rate really high in the back and that is a pain in the ass literally, best to just go with an 18" paddle/rim setup.

Yeah probably going to go with the 18"...

My rear tire for dirt is 120/80-19, and the only paddle I can find in a 19 is 110/90-19. With paddles that is waaay too tall...

But I can get a 120/80-18, and should clear the swingarm and under-seat/ rear fender area just fine.

Plus, if I up the spring rate in the rear, handling will be horrible with my forks staying the same...

Yep, a bit more expensive but worth the reduced wear and tear on the equipment. You will be able to clear more razor backs and more suspension travel, plus the 120 paddle is wider, more surface area... Quicker acceleration and the harder you can kick the tail in for grip.

personally, i would go with a 250f... the 450 is almost too much.

Its kind of like the difference between the r1 and r6... just scaled down hp wise lol
