A Walther PPK. But wouldn't you rather shoot like Scaramanga? Oh, wait, that's me seeing as I just got an SAA clone.

I want to buy one of these but heard they're not legal in this state.

That is an interesting setup, with the barrel firing the cartridge in the bottom chamber. Too bad it's double action, if it was single action it would have been exempt from requiring approval.

It's definitely not legal in California as the manufacturer is still pursuing approval (though I doubt they're trying very hard).

I think you're meaning to say Single shot not single action. Single shot exemption?

it says here that : Certain single-action revolvers and single-shot pistols are exempt from certification.

So I guess the .50 bmg is legal in california in a single shot or do I have that wrong ?

    California Penal Code 32100:

32100. (a) Article 4 (commencing with Section 31900) and Article 5 (commencing with Section 32000) shall not apply to a single-action revolver that has at least a five-cartridge capacity with a barrel length of not less than three inches, and meets any of the following specifications:
    (1) Was originally manufactured prior to 1900 and is a curio or relic, as defined in Section 478.11 of Title 27 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
    (2) Has an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at least seven and one-half inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.
    (3) Has an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at least seven and one-half inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled and that is currently approved for importation into the United States pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (3) of subsection (d) of Section 925 of Title 18 of the United States Code.
    (b) Article 4 (commencing with Section 31900) and Article 5 (commencing with Section 32000) shall not apply to a single-shot pistol with a barrel length of not less than six inches and that has an overall length of at least 10 inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.

Basically, ignoring relics, a modern single-action revolver, with at least five chambers, a barrel of three inches or longer, and an overall length of seven and a half inches or longer, is exempt.

Any rifle firing .50 BMG is illegal as that cartridge makes it an assault weapon. Now if someone makes an SA revolver that fires 5 x .50 BMG and meets the above requirements, would the text indicating a rifle mean this pistol is exempt? I would hazard yes. Of course, no such thing exists -- and it's kinda doubtful it ever will.

I love the feel of those cowboy guns too. But I've only shot a .22

How is the muzzle flip vs a glock with the barrel so high?

I have yet to fire it. Just got it today and all I did was clean it and put the wood grips on. I'm taking it to the range on Saturday so we'll see.

A martini glass may be fancy, but it's nowhere close to foo foo unless it's got some frilly drink in it like a cosmo, and that would be the drink's fault more than the glass.

    Just a quick update . . . finally got out to the range . . .

    Goods....
    Comfy
    Quick
    Balanced
    AWESOME!

    Bad...
Shot consistently to the left about 1 inch from 20 yds. Need a sight pusher to adjust them, but don't want to spend $130 on one if I'm only going to use it a few times. Need to find a place to bench it and adjust properly, but all in all, awesome weapon!

    Hello fellow gun extremists. :P

I'm going to go buy a 9mm next week along with a sweet dragonov.

The steyr looks pretty sweet. I've been told just get a glock but what are your opinions?
I want this thing to be like it doesn't even need to be aimed and it'll shoot all 10 through the same hole
    no recoil and no flip.

    Maybe you're right.
