    redruM Reborn

Today was a good day for the MINI. It went in about three weeks ago for sand damage and we picked it up at 5PM this evening from the body shop and it looks great. I'll have a better chance to really check it out tomorrow when it is light. Some highlights:

They painted the whole car and it looks new now
The holes for the old rear spoiler are now filled and painted over
The front MINI logo is gone and the holes are filled
    New windshield and lights
The red mirror caps were a good idea :tu:

    Some not so good things:

We got pre-facelift HIDs instead of the new ones
Our JCW door sills are missing
I had to pull the Halo indicators with my silver bulbs out of the trash
Had to get the old fog lights with our yellow bulbs out the trash too

We'll see what it looks light tomorrow, but we are really pleased at this point. We also got the rims and tires in for a little bit of stretch:

    8x17 offset 32 (1.5" lip) with 205-45-17 on front

    8.5x17 offset 33 (2" lip) with 215-45-17 on rear

    Pics when they are mounted

Since teasers suck and I said i would post pics, here it is:

Looks like it can drop an inch with no problem. Right after I got these two wheels on, the rain came back and I had to push the GTI back into the garage so I will have to finish it all later

Nice. I was looking forward to these pics. Kelly (blonde) let the cat out of the bag when we had dinner last week. Looks great just like I pictured.

I was thinking about maybe going back to chrome door handles and side markers to tie it all in a little better

Well, I don't know. The wheels pop by them self. All the other black stuff works good with everything else (roof, glass, moldings, handles). If you started swapping out black for chrome, where does it start and where does it stop?

Besides, if Kelli gets sick of them, they will look nice on the MK2.............

Looks great! I'd say keep the black handles and side markers. It'll keep people looking at the Schmidts

    Re: redruM Reborn

I was able to get it a little lower today and throw in some negative camber in the rear. I also trimmed a lot of the rear fenders so hopefully it won't be rubbing. We'll see if it makes it out of the driveway tomorrow. Here is a shot from Saturday morning:
