    Installed: Water/Methanol Injection

I finally got the control unit and soleniod I needed to complete my water/methanol injection. I installed it tonight, tweaked the timing, and ran a bunch of logs with the VAG.

All I have to say is HOLY CRAP!! The car is a beast!

Basicaly I am running timing for what would be equivilent to about 98-99 octane on only 91 octane pump gas.

I dunno why more 1.8t guys don't do this. It is definetly worth the cost IMHO. I would think it's almost a must for you big turbo guys as well....

PM or IM me if you have any questions!!

    Steve

Are you only using it as an intercooler sprayer or or you actually using it as an additional injection intake sprayer next to your throttle body?

It is injected directly in the air stream right before the throttle body....

So how about doing a write up on the install procedure and an equipment list that you used for this project? Plus any recomendations or reference material on the best setup for the system?

why would a big turbo need it as much as a the smaller K03/K04? Just think about that for a second. Most people that run a BT have a fmic, plus a BT will have a lower IAT then a K03/K04 at the same boost level.

Best thing you could do to show the diff, is to do a vag log of your IAT's without and then with the system running.
It had some power, but has MORE now.......

While KO3s start blowing hot air way sooner, I think running this, assuming what it did for Steve works for my setup, could make a massive power difference...even more of a difference than it would make on a stock turbo setup. I can't get about timing 2 on my sps3 without pulling more timing than I'd like... If I could run timing 4/5/6/7/whatever on 91 octane, I'd be psyched.

I'll have to get a ride in the car, Steve.
    Car probably doesn't run.

We had a Snow Performance kit on our old Ram diesel. It made an increase of about 60 hp, not to mention it ran very cool, even when towing about 15,000 lbs.

This was something I intended to do to the S4. Basically injecting straight into the TB, which (imho) would keep the car cool without even upgrading the IC's, not to mention the additional hp on top of the Stage III numbers!!!

I will implement a Snow system on the 20v Turbo engine once I get it a bit furhter along.

+ So what exactly did you get? The mechanical or electrical application?

    Agreed.

Water/Methanol injection is certainly not a new idea and it is pretty cool. I think people don't know about it because it takes a little bit of knowledge to install and can cost close to the price of a chip so most people just don't spring for it. I've been seeing alot more cars running it lately though. Seems like its catching on again.

I've actually seen just the water misters. I believe New Dimensions had it... but apparently not anymore. I'm a bit sketchy on using methonal on my engine. Would that leave any unwanted deposits on my block? Or maybe shorten the life span of certain parts?

It will NOT leave any deposits--It will actually leave your engine spotless
